Having been very quiet here for a while I guess it is time to show what I have been up to.
this January I started as a reenactor with the danish medieval group called Korsfarerne (Crusaders in English). We represent the religious orders found occupying and fighting as well as serving in and around Outremer in the 11th to 13th century. I myself represent a member of the order of the poor fellow knights of Christ (knights Templar for short) my wife plays a Cistercian nun and the kids are just that, kids. Here are the first few images from the annual Copenhagen fair. (More will follow)
I am walking lead escort on the right, carrying the heavy norman shield
Me standing outside left still escorting the bishop who is carrying the prize for the winners of the Battle og Nations competitions.
Me standing in the second row, infront of the nuns preparing for the procession walking the fair, controlling that the sellars have their things in order and have paid tithes as well as carrying proper registered relics for sale, not swindling the masses (without prior papal consent that is). In the preocession the knightly orders will be strung out according to history, Templars front, teutonic order in the middle rear and the rear guard being Knights of St. John. Small not here I did have to be put in my place due to a small fight with one St john scum being rude to a Templar sargeant.
From the grand battle in the right most part can be seen in black a Templar sargeant using a longsword, a member of the order of St john fighting by his side and to his right a Templar knight. The grand battle was laid out with a history of a feud between to landowners, one of course being the good, pious and just the other a scoundrel, tyrant and coward. Here I was just in as an escort and protector of the bishop allowing his own contingency of men to fight for the pious landowner as well as having the Bishop bless the field of battle and the troops under the churches ally.
