We've come a long way in just a few years. I just gave away a 32" Panasonic Tau tube tv. 160 lbs. You can't even DONATE these things anymore. It was just 11 years old, that's nothing compared to how long people used to keep tv's.

Soon, when we order TVs online, they will arrive in cardboard tubes.

I know that feeling. I have a 40" CRT that I haven't replaced mostly because I'm not really sure how I'm going to get it out of the house, let alone off the cabinet it's sitting on. A part of me is tempted to just protect the floor with a bit of plywood, throw a tarp over the thing to keep the slivers and bits in and tip it over forward off the stand onto the floor then remove it piecemeal.

I suggest a dolly and 2 friends you don't like very much.

I still have a Toshiba 20 inch with no corners, black picture tube, with S-VHS and Composite and Components inputs and outputs.

It also has separate customizable audio and video settings for DVD and Broadcast and VHS and video games.

Bought it in 2001 at Best Buy for $400. It still works great.

I am not getting rid of it.

LG is doing some amazing things with OLEDs. This vid from the 2015 Lightfair demonstrates some home lighting concepts that are pretty cool.

I wanted to keep an SDTV to go with my old consoles, but those things are hard to store due to size. We upgraded our bedroom TV, so everything got shifted around. That was the one that made sense to go.
