Hi redpiano

I run the Steam version

I am using an older PC
• DDR2 Ram
• 8 series Nvidia GPU. 1GB Vram
• 6 year old dual core CPU 2.4GHz

My in game settings
• Speed
• No shadows
• Smoke/dust minimum
• 1024x768 (I can run higher)
• Simple Shaders
• Low Grass
• Everything minimum.

Option 2 in Game settings is "Video and performance". this is where you can reduce the load on GPU & CPU. Especially. 2.17 & 2.14 can have a big impact. Hovering the cursor over the options can give a simple explanation of what it does.

Some of my in game screenshots (not all are mine): http://dogsofwarvu.com/forum/index.php/topic,371.0.html

It looks great. Plays great. My average FPS = 20

Let me know if I can help in any way.

Regards

That seems like something is broken with this game then. I have an i5 760 and GTX 680 GPU, 8GB DDR3 and the game runs at 20 fps or lower even on the lowest settings. I don't know how you can even play at 20 fps, it's nauseating for me.

I do know that you should disable AA in your GPU control panel. Also i have quite a few friends who own SABOW with different PC specs and non have issues. Maybe it is an issue with the demo or your pc (worth considering).

20 FPS is not an issue for a game like this. It's not a first person shooter with lots of fast movement with directional changes or constant screen/scene changes or corridors/rooms to run through. This is not an arcade shooter.

I play other similar simulations at this FPS without issue or nausea. It works for me.

Why not post in the Graviteam official forum here?: http://graviteam.com/forum/index.php?board=11.0

I don't use hardware AA. And do your friends not have problems or do they just not care that the game runs badly like you? Because 20 fps is not an acceptable framerate for any games, regardless of what kind of game it is.

And I would ask on their forums but I can't seem to answer their verification questions correctly for some reason, so oh well.

It does NOT run bad for me. Like I said some simulations/games do not require large FPS. As long as it runs smooth and does not feel sluggish. I have played many hours with SABOW as well as FSX, X-Plane, Steel Beasts Pro etc.

My friends do not have an issue.

I am only trying to help.

I had no issue with registering but maybe I am just lucky that way wink . SABOW has excellent support from the devs. Not many give support like they do. SABOW is quite a few years old and yet they have updated it and continue to add new content. Also there is the free demo. Not many let you try it. You are having an issue and that is unfortunate.

I understand, but in my opinion 20 fps, and it's not even a solid 20 fps it bounces around between 15-20, is a terrible framerate, it gives me a headache just trying to play it. I would like to buy this game, but only if it will run at a reasonable, stable framerate, like 30-40+

Based on the visuals, it doesn't make much sense to me that it runs as bad as it does and there doesn't appear to be any way to lower the number of AI or anything in the demo, so I have no idea if it's some CPU load problem or the game is just broken.

Hi redpiano

I just installed the demo. I get good frame rates (for me) and smooth play. In the sight views i get 25+ FPS (even 35).

Here are some settings to check:

1 General settings
1.01 Speed

2 Video and Performance
2.10 Decrease vegetation
2.11 Draw Grass
2.17 Shadows
2.24 Reduce dust and smoke
2.25 Grass detail
2.26 Detail change distance
2.27 Landscape quality

6Special settings
6.16 Adjust game speed automatically

This last setting (6.16). I think there was an issue. So try having it "Disabled"

Did you install the DirectX 9 that came with the game?
Did you install thevcredist_x64 that came with the game?

Hope this helps

Regards

Krabb, it says "you did not answer the questions correctly" but doesn't say which one, they all look right to me and I tried a few times.

It seems I fixed the issue though, I reset my PC this morning and now it seems to be running perfectly well so my mistake apparently, I'm not sure why this game was having problems and not others though, rather odd.

Is it steel fury? It says "steel ***** (the name of our tank sim)" so I thought it was Steel Armor, I've not heard of Steel Fury.
