Over 300MB?! I'll have to wait and download this later tonight when my bandwidth isn't monitored (already hit YouTube pretty hard this morning). From what I can tell, my floppy version doesn't have the speech (original actors) with enhanced music and sound effects. This came later on a CD-ROM version (which I assume is why it's over 300MB). I'm pretty jazzed about this one.

Fretting over a 300mb download... Welcome to 1998! Nah, in 1998 I was fat, more like welcome to 1985. Well, more like '89 but I'm getting there. BTW, I pay one plan extra to get that whopping 1GB/day (except from 2AM to 7AM when it's not monitored).

I never got past episode 4 (floppy version) but it was a fun game.
Scully: Victim died of multiple stab wounds. Mulder: *throws her a file* Ever heard of the knife alien?

I loved that game, played the disk version back in...when I was young...er. The space combat wasn't really that great but the ground missions offered very fun adventure gameplay and the whole thing just oozed trekkie atmosphere. EDIT: Oh, they also have Judgement Rites and Starfleet Academy! Keeping fingers crossed for Klingon Academy now...

I had purchased this back in DOS days- I didn't think it was that good then, but for the budget price these days, I'd take a look at it.
The space combat is boring- just moving the mouse cursor around the screen and shooting at the enemy ships. They move fast and they are difficult to hit, it's not at all very thoughtful, it doesn't involve anything more than that. The last battle was very difficult, the Enterprise is outnumbered.
The planet landing sequences have good references to the TV show, mainly in the form of the red shirt security guards. But some of the puzzles had solutions that didn't seem sporting, they didn't always seem logical based on information known to the player, as I recall, like you had to read the programmer's mind or something.

The TNG game SpecHolo made, I forget its name now, had really good graphics for DOS. However, compared to Judgement Rites and 25th Anniversary the story was barely adequate.
I wish Secret of Vulcan Fury had been released, it was the last time DeForest Kelley voiced McCoy and it was recorded not long before his death.

Does anyone know where I can buy a used copy of Klingon Academy in good condition cheap cheap cheap?
You can probably find a copy on Ebay or maybe even Amazon but I can guarantee you it wont be cheap. I'm still kicking myself for selling my copy to another gamer.
