I just installed and started playing this game a week ago. This game, with TF mods, rocks! The online community is alive and well and extremely helpful in getting new players airborne.

If you want a flight arcade game, fly warthunder or world of planes.

If you want a flight sim I highly recommend you pick this game up on steam and install the TF mods.

The installation process and lots of useful info is on the TF's de-facto home:

ATAG

The more the merrier!

+1. I've been mostly playing offline, but starting to get the urge to try my hand at MP. Nice post, Dalkko.

For many years the Med has been one of the most sought after new theaters in WW2 combat flight sims. "IF" in fact V5 is situated somewhere in the Med theater, it could spell a real resurgence in COD's popularity. Along with all the other improvements to FM, DM, Terrain, etcm on a very capable DX11 COD game engine. Not to mention all the new mission capabilities on the Channel Map made possible by the new aircraft in V5.

But for the stutter in multi play I'd agree. I've found it unplayable in some server maps.

Same here Dalko.

Having bought the original game right after the release, the bad Performance rendered it useless and i lost interest. But now i began to give it another go and the TF mods really make a difference. Despite the 4 years which have past and the much better Hardware now, the game is so much better looking and fluid, it's a dream to fly. The cockpits are the best around as well as the terrain. ROF and IL2:BOS are no match in this regard.
Still have to figure out the key layout and stick configuration. But i am going to start the single missions and campaign this week. smile

Torch operation would be really great. So many interested aircrafts involved.
Perhaps one day a Morane 406 !!!!

None of combat flight sims are finished, they are all works in progress. Oleg has been long gone, but Team Fusion has gone out of their way to credit Oleg and Luthier for creating a wonderful sandbox for the them to continue their work. We should see CLOD, DCS WW2, BOS, and WT evolve over another dozen years or so, each getting better every year. I'm especially looking forward to flying DCS and WT with the Oculus Rift CV1 early next year.

Cliffs of Dover is in my opinion the best for a real simulator online game playing experience. I do however think Battle of Stalingrad has us beat as far as ground scenery but that's about all. Then again Cliffs of Dover is always improving and I can't wait for the Mediterranean theater..I hope there is an update today. salute

I dunno ... I still think that 46 is the definitive flight sim experience.. If I wanted to get someone whpo had never done a flight sim hooked on the genre I'd introduce him to 46 .. Then CoD and BoS... and lastly DCS...

Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.

Perhaps- it really boils down to what kind of planes they're into and how badly the need to "learn to plane"...

I think my ultimate sim would be Cliffs of Dover with IL-2 1946's plane and theater of war set.

Agreed, definitive BoB sim.
Re-installed recently with the latest Team Fusion mod. Absolutely fantastic with all bells and whistles pushed way up.

Adding a grab for pleasuring the eyes.

Cheers,
Slug
