New frustration. I posted that my hard disk died & had it replaced. My games were on that drive. So I just reinstalled Skyrim, now I find that the graphics adapter defaults to the Intel gfx chip, which of course doesn't give any performance at all, instead of my Nvidia GTX 760.
The device manager reports the my GFX card as "working properly".
Any suggestions? frown

2 things to check....

If you don't use the onboard Intel graphics then disable it in BIOS or at least make the PCI-Express with your GTX760 the main output.

Double-check the Nvidia Control Panel.....I'm not even sure that recent drivers give you the choice, but the older ones allowed you to select which was the primargy GPU driving the 3D settings i.e. games.

Make sure you have actually connected your monitor lead to the graphic card output and not the motherboard graphic output
