It's done when it's done.
Yeah, I'm a bit tired of flying over the Black Sea region since...Flanker 1 but we'll get there. In time.

^ While we're at it, Force10, what does Your "PWEC" stand for? Google showed me a bunch of options, but neither of them makes sense here and, as a non-native English speaker, I'm not quite up to date with Your urban gangsta dictionary . PWEC is a section of SimHQ and stands for "Politics, War, Economy, Controversy" You can find it here: http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/forums/279/1/PWEC It's only visible to members, and it's where members talk about Politics etc. It can get pretty hostile in there as folks argue opinions and viewpoints back and forth. Swordsman's post had nothing to do with DCS and was about US/Russian relations.

I am curious: What has ED done that warrants such undieing love and admiration from you for a commercial company whose primary purpose is making money. Why would you insinuate that i'm a fanboi just because i pointed out that peoples replies were rather unhelpful? Does that somehow make peoples replies more helpful?

I had a little smile myself when I noticed the reply was caveated with *estimate*. Because everything that isn't boldface 20 point stamped as estimate is automatically a promise which, if said estimate isn't met, calls for a #%&*$#, in fact, a #%&*$# is called for at all times and for no reasons whatsoever. Looks like Sober also has doubts that ED can pull off a release by July too.
It just shows you the lack of trust everyone has with ED's planning and estimating. It will be released when ED are ready, I reckon that's anytime between now and infinity.
Don't just pull things out of thin air and put them into my mouth, it isn't appreciated. I just corresponded what ED told the community, there is no interpretation in my statement. Any stuff you read into my statement is mere 100% projection on your part.

In reply to anyone calling you a 'fanboi'....They are your words No they aren't. I specifically said that somebody *insinuated* that i am a fanboi. A rhetoric device called "poisoning the well" and it is usually frowned upon. Somebody establishes that i don't question ED under any circumstances ever (which is of course factually untrue), therefore anything i say on the topic can't possibly have any merit. Sobek, you highlighted *estimate* because you were emphasising there is still potential for further delays....disagree with that?
Edit: I highlighted 'estimate' to emphasize that it is an estimate by ED as advocated by them, not a promise that they would release it up to a specific date. I don't have a clue what feature set ED have planned for the alpha, i don't know how their ressources are allocated and i am under NDA. I am not in a position to comment on release timeframes. Sorry if that makes it harder for you to construe arguments why ED is bad/incompetent/failed you or wronged you personally. Now since the OP got his answer, does this thread still serve a purpose?

Actually...I have a question since you have more info then most. After the years spent on Edge...they are planning to release it to the public as an Alpha? I was hoping that the time it was taking it would be more of a polished beta. Or is the Alpha release you're talking about just an early access type of thing for their internal testing team?

I'd like to participate in the beta of the alpha, before it goes full-on alpha. After that, I could beta the beta.

The Jedi Master Do you mean the early access beta of the alpha or the pre-order premium beta of the alpha? I guess I'll just wait until the alpha version of the pre-release beta for the original A-10C beta customers is broccoli.

I wonder how many of us are actually ready to take full advantage of having Nevada map though.
I admit there are plenty of ways to play the map.. but in my opinion, if we dont know how the range is actually used, the map can suddenly become just a peace of beautiful boring map for most of us.
It is very much appreciated if people who has knowledge on the range procedure, share some info on the range. When it's released and we see what ED has actually populated range wise the 476th likely will be releasing a mission with the ranges populated as realistically as possible.

I'd imagine that most people would just be happy to cruise around the new map / modified Black Sea region checking out the details and exploring until the potential of the maps is fully realized. We're lucky to have some great mission builders who will no doubt take full advantage of the maps to make some / update some great missions. I'm looking forward to some multiple manned platform integrated MP 'red flag' missions, and can only hope that the new terrain/maps make use of combined arms. +2 Jedi!
