Debating, as I want to get one, since funds are availible, just dunno if I want to get 500GB or look at 1TB as Im sure my OS drive is around 300GB alone, and I have a huge Games folder on another drive.

So eitherway would be cutting close.

I might just use it as a sim drive for games like DCS.

As I know moving my windows install to another drive will cause unwanted headaches with Windows DRM (Music and movies).

As for the 128GB flash drive, I'd likely use it to boot another Windows X install, soany bad reviews.from DoA to.0MB report size in Windows, but I.have to wonder how many of these users actualky correctly formatted the thing.

The memory stick bundled with my order has a faster read/write than my Sata6 drives.

Will likely use it as a bootable WindowsX drive.

Prolly condense my C: drive as much as possible ( move all games left to another driver, archive my pictures folder, which is now 50+ gb, my music is about 75gb, but thats likely gonna cause a DRM fit, so the music will stay. Then copy using acronis.

Windows, apps, music, and then move DCS to it, and everything else will reside on the other drive.

Allen, what procedure sid you use for your 840?

Been hearing issues with the samsung software (magician) and the copy procedure.

OOPs, I had Frys match the Intel 730 480GB just the other day. $200. not to bad though. Just wish the migration software was better. What a pain in the a$$ to migrate. Thank god for the internet and google!

I heard the software was good, then sometime in the last few months everyone started complaining about it. The cloning and trim features causing headaches etc.

I'll likely finish condensing my C: drive this weekend,
im down to 260 GB used, with 40+GB My Pictures folder that needs cleaned and archived, done switched chromes download folder to a different drive.

I want to move all pix and documents (PSDs etc). I also have about 60GB of DCS mod work to move as well.

Might need to replace the 640.GB Black drive with 2TB.
the 640GB is literally full of steam games.

Right now C: and D: are 50/50 split of a 1.5 TB.
with D being a archive partition thats pretty full as I move stuff off C:

I plan to keep my windows partition on the 1.5TB even after cloning just in case I run into issues.

But i think I can get it to Sub 200GB.

My issue was the Intel software would look at the whole drive, not just the partition I was trying to move. It therefore would add a second partition when it did the migration. Intel support suggested several third party applications to use. I believe that software was meant for laptops or single drive systems that were just replacing drives. I found that AOMEI Partition Assistant worked great in performing the migration to the SSD.

You'll definitely save a ton of room moving downloads, my music, my pictures, saved games to another drive. I've gotten mine down to 239GB leaving a goodly amount of space. I still have my Steam on the SSD drive which if I moved would drop another 50GB or so.

I did jack up moving saved games to another drive though. I don't know how to fix that though. Hopefully google will be my friend again.

Samsung's software is what I was sayin, I have Acronis so I,ll likely use that.

Or give samsung's a legit try first to align and trim etc.
