Lots to see there, but in a nutshell, Descendent studios got the IP from Interplay and are making a AAA prequel to Descent called Descent:Underground. The flight dynamics are going to follow D1/D2 style flight, and all the great things about Descent will be there: Fusion Audio Taunts Tri-Chording

The Kickstarter page and video was updated, and much clearer as to explaining the game elements. This is contained in one of the live streams, but shows a bit of the new Descent:

Loved Descent... was my first 3d multiplayer game with friends. Backed it on Kickstarter when it first opened up. Looking forwward to seeing what they do with it. Even before the prequel came out, I'd been kicking around reloading the Descent 2 or 3 to see if I could get it working on a current machine.

Here's a new update with some Oculus Rift footage. Very cool! Turn the Youtube settings up to 1080p for best view. How cool is it that this is pre-alpha and the devs are flying around with the OR and in multiplayer?
If you're still on the fence, now's the time to back the project! 4 days to go....

It's over 400k now, so 2/3 of the way there. I think it's going to definitely make it.
They are preparing a video with specifics about the single player portion of the game, which should bring in A LOT of the descenters still on the fence. I'll post the video here as soon as they release it.

Looks cool, but does anyone have faith these guys can deliver? I'm sure there's a reason they "quit" Star Citizen...I was wondering what happened to a few of those guys from the early dev updates in SC. I wish them luck, I enjoyed the original.
They quit SC because SC wanted to move their main studio out of texas and into california but a few of those guys had family and etc in texas and didnt want to make the move. (as far as I remember)
