Opinions? Lord knows I go off randomly from time to time but I won't get offended if somebody says to focus on the game at hand. I think there is a common consensus that we have a limited time to play together and we all want to have fun doing it. I will certainly make a conscious effort to reel in the ramblings on stuff. Lets have fun, keep it light, but keep on target most of all.

I like the barroom banter, or you might as well play with the public. But once the shots start flying, time to get on topic. I'd add: Ongoing complaining about devs, state of development, this or that about the game for more than a comment or two may result in blue on blue weapons check. (Omega Protocol) No one wants to put their night into a game just to listen to people complain and put it down. Complain about something specific, then move on and let it go. I've done it too. Try to maintain a positive workspace. Just my 2¢.

I would be happy with this. When folks are playing in small groups, open comms is fine but when we are all together, the chatter should be cut down. I don't mind idle banter, but when everyone is chatting on and on and no one seams focused on playing... and then start to complain about losing (wonder why).... it can get sort of annoying. The complaining is what bothers me most. I think there should be a 100,000 c-bill fine for whining. Personally, I wish we would play some community warfare as a team .

The group leader would be the de facto drop commander, IMO

I agree with the proposals here too, I like the banter between rounds, toning it down when there's > 8 of us, and focusing on the fight once the shooting starts.
I noticed we improve our win loss ratio whenever we call out focus fire and strategy during rounds so any work towards that even while staying casual will pay off in fun and wins and c-bills for us.

Just don't expect me to know the proper A=alpha B=bravo C=....cookie D=....delta E=....ah screw it. I make them up as I go. Probably obvious by now. LOL
We have some good people that step up well for calling available targets, some good at strategy. Designating roles might help though. Priority given to a spotter/narc mech. When mojo and weasel are running spotter, we do a crapload of fast damage over when everyone talks over each other calling targets.
So, again, one thing we're bad about is each calling out our own target and not a target the group can see. If we each callout a target, we're still just individuals. However,I do want to hear if someone needs special "I'm screwed" help to make a special effort to get over there. It would be good to have one guy calling targets, maybe two if spread out, followed by replies "not in range" if you can't see the target or "firing" if you can see them. I notice Phil (Ngng) is bad about calling his own target, and blocking others' view of it, and not holding back some positionwise to call good targets the team can see. That's what you see in good team videos. We would also be well served to form lines rather than balls. Give em the broadside instead of shooting ourselves. We might have a pack of 4-6 mechs, but only 2-3 have a shot. Just some random thoughts from watching game videos.

Guys, I'm sorry for always tying comms up with my endless chatter. I'll try to tone it down.

Despite my cranky post last week, you guys know I enjoy the banter we have and it's nice to see new players in the ranks! As mentioned previously, once the round starts we need immediate coordination if we intend to succeed, especially as group sizes increase.
A couple brevity things that may be of use (not suggesting militant adherence to any particular guidelines):
"Roger" - I heard and understood you. "Copy" means the same thing. "tally" - I see a target. Follow this with a bearing (above the caret on the compass tape) ex. "tally 2 targets moving left to right, bearing 275" Keep in mind a bearing is from the person making the calls position. Or if someone else calls a target and you want them to know you see it too, just say "tally". "wilco" - will comply with your directive. No need to say "roger wilco" as 'wilco' implies you heard the directive.
General group coordination-
When moving down a narrow corridor/canyon, try and stay to one side, so faster mechs can pass and to present more firepower at the "tip of the spear" when contact is made.
If you are following someone: let them know if you will be to their right or left, so they know to keep a fire lane open for you. Try not to get in a spot that will prevent the guy in from of you from backing up if needed. A staggered formation when moving in a column does much to mitigate this.
I agree that one thing we do is all call our own targets, leading to a lack of focus fire. Perhaps the lead element or even scouts should be the ones calling targets. If your target is an imminent danger, perhaps a call of "Help" would be reserved for actual emergencies.
