I can't get DCS World to update to 1.2.16. I'm on 1.2.15 and it says it's the latest.

It's currently in Open Beta only.

Sweet, I love the old school Sabre livery! Quick question though, not very well acquainted practically with firearms: Firing the 6 .50 cals dry without stepping on the brakes, full fuel load and idle throttle, is that supposed to provide enough recoil to propel the plane backwards at a speed of 16kp/h? Seems a tad excessive?

Disregarding friction and other dissipative forces, 6 rounds fired at 15K Joules each (as per wikipedia info on .50bmg muzzle energy) would propel the F-86 (7000kg loaded - wikipedia) backwards at 18kph.

So, theoretically, you could fly it if the cannons were pointing backwards lol.

So there is no friction modeled for the wheel bearings then? Because there's no way the guns should cause it to start rolling that fast. Now if it was already rolling backwards at 10kph or something and you fire them, sure, but something tells me that is way too much.

Well, I didn't get from the previous comment how many bullets did he fire: without friction, just single firing (i.e. the 6 guns fire one round each) would be enough to reach that speed (I didn't expect that when I first did the math). But I thought he was talking about sustained fire... or at least some seconds of fire.

If the plane goes backwards by 16kph on single fire there is definitely something wrong with the physics modeling.

Apparently the ACH was a copied (unlicensed) Jaeger-Le Coultre Chronoflite which just happened to have a CCW stopwatch minute hand. It also had to be wound CCW as well. The later ACH-1 had conventional movement.
