I have 25/20 in both eyes, however I have problems focusing in dim light situations. I get double vision.
Those ole school days with projectors wreaked havoc on my eyes, although I could see it clearly.
I have a prescription for a prism only, but the measurement is soooooo mi-nute, the doc says I should only have to wear them, if I feel the need. Otherwise, he wasn't going to prescribe anything.
Still have 20/20 vision and im 42. I guess I have good genes.
This although I'm 34.....
Wife wears glasses, just found out my 4.5yr old needs glasses, Mom wears them, sister too, my 2nd oldest bro has ever since my sister poked him in the eye as a baby, my oldest bro just started wearing them. My Dad had an infamous incident with a bungie cord years ago, he was going to Warrant Officer training and only wanted to take on bag on the flight so he stuffed his bag then wrapped it with the bungie cord to keep it from bursting. While going through security the bungie cord let loose and the hook caught him right in the eye! Hes lucky hes not blind, and I'm lucky I still don't need glasses and can read street signs from a distance.
I've got a bad feeling about this.....

[Re: Chaz]
20/15! Nice numbers Chaz and Dave. Good to hear the Lasik went well Chaz. (as you probably already inferred, I'm particularly interested in the surgery numbers).
If you've been on the fence for a while, I say just pull the trigger and go for it. I don't think any Lasik surgeon will give you a "guarantee" on post-op vision. Not everyone qualifies and I may be telling you stuff you already know. The actual procedure is very quick and 12-24 hours later you'll be seeing near perfect if not 20/20. There will be some eye hemorrhaging (aka "bloodshot" eyes) for a couple weeks after. Get a consultation and go from there.
As I stated earlier, my vision was around 20/100 or contact-wise -3.00ish. It' just so nice not having to clean contacts every night or wear glasses.... except sunglasses!
I'm nearly 50 but fortunately didn't need to wear specs until I was 45 and that's only for close-up work such as reading though I can still often read the text on my mobile phone without them. My distance vision is still pretty goo, I can still spot a Bell Jetranger flying over the city from my place and that's about 13 kilometres away.
Out of ammo Out of energy Out of ideas Down to harsh language
I'm like Chaz (didn't see the Lasik option on the poll until too late). I'm 10 years post-op and am 46. Close vision is starting to become a problem but I haven't done anything about it yet.
Oh, and like PV1 wrote, my nearsightedness started when I became a voracious reader (at around age 5 I was reading at the age 12 level - not a brag, just illustrating how much I read). My mom was nearsighted (before she did RK c. 2000) but my dad was farsighted. My brother is neither (he needed readers around age 46.
