So, if you have the option, the track clip pro, with it's wires and so on, or the piece that attaches to a hat?

I use the hat clip because it is a whole lot simpler and less hassles.

I second what Panama said, I would definitely go with the hat clip.

I have both. However I've had some issues with the Track Clip Pro randomly failing. So I use the hat clip doofer.

And another vote for the hat clip.
Worked fine for years.

I have attached the Hat-Clip to the Top of my Headphones, and it works fine. This Method has the Advantage, that the Pilot's Head Position shifts up a Bit when you are looking down, and down when you are looking up (you see more that way...)

Same as others..Hat clip on top of my headphones

I have tried both, and to me, the "hat" wins. Both for useability, performance and durability.I have used it with TiR 4 and 5. Zero problems.

Hat visor clip. I did use a an old bread wrapper tie and secured it to the hat. Sometimes the hat clip would spring off when I removed my headphones in a certain manner.

I use the pro clip on my headphones, works well, only issue is the cable that needs to be sorted each time before use. Might try the hat clip on top of the headphones one day. Here's an old photo:

I guess I'm really the odd man out here. I never got good results with the hat clip. I use the ProClip on headphones.

Oooops! Didn't scroll down far enough. Missed RedToo.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But in practice, there is.

I use the hat clip. I use it with a cap, and not on my headphones, for the good reason that when I'm alone at home during the day I let the engines roar on my Altec Lansing speaker system with the good old subwoofer under the desk... smile

I like that pic Red Too.
I was concerned about the durability of the clip, but it is way more precise.

The hat I have the visor clip on is from Track IR 2, had to cover up the single reflective part of the visor bill with dark duct tape. biggrin

trac clip, here. I don't think think I would want the pro, would probably end up hanging myself with the cable.

I use the track clip pro, but it's very flimsy. Even after careful handling, it still fell apart within a few months of use. I ended up duck taping the damn thing together and it's now a permanent fixture on my headphones. Wires are a bit annoying, but I got used to it. Still working great after 3 years.

Clip is badly made, mine broke after a few weeks and was taped and wired up to hold it together for the last few years. Recently binned it and bought one of the Delan Engineering versions someone recommended;

wishing I'd stuck with the hat clip years ago samed some money back then but this clip is sturdy although the wires are open visible they are fairly well protected wink
