Sorry if I am asking a dumb question.. I searched the forums and have not found an answer..

Is there a way to turn OFF the Icon ARROWS.. and keep the aircraft icon on?

Thanks..

Arrows are shown hitting CTRL+F1 (No-Cockpit View) and cannot be removed. Just must hit again for five times CTRL+F1 to switch to Cockpit View (F1) to turn off them. Be aware that, if you go to CTRL+F1 and then switch to External View (F2) you keep seeing arrows.

I do MOST of the time.. but in close, 'cockpit on' is not very realistic because of how restricted your view is.. In real life overall visibility much better.. The arrows are very distracting.. 'Icons Off' is a good compromise though!..

I am curious.. do you have a Track IR ? What kind of scanning system do you use? What is your stick? If you are useing an X-52 you can use your mouse button to look around and adjust it so that it is almost as smooth and efficient as a head tracking device like TIR or one of the other ones...

Occasionally I will still fly no pit offline but always without icons... I prefer the cockpit on though.. You will find that with practice your "limited" visibility is not as limiting as you think when taking into account the movements of your opposition.. but it is an adjustment..

Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.

I was out of gaming for a couple of years.. just getting back into IL2..

I have a complete CH HOTAS.. TIR.. I also have the X-52, and TM HOTAS.. so I do have all the equipment I need.. I was just wanting a clean no cockpit view occasionally.. because even with the TIR.. and the 3 DOF mod.. the views with the cockpit on are far from what you see in real life..

Just to be sure:

do you mean damage arrows ?

If yes turn them off by setting

[game]
Arcade=0

in your conf.ini (main game directory)

Have fun

Rgr that... Yeah if you have icons on it is not possible to not have the arrows in no cockpit view... That would be an interesting mod to do...
