HI all

It's been awhile since I tinkered with the mission builder but I seem to be unable to get any AI aircraft to become active when I create a mission. I've added the aircraft in the mission builder and set the waypoints but when I "fly" the mission, the aircraft isn't on the map nor is it visible from the F2 viewpoint.

I have the skill set to Random as well, so not sure if I've missed something.

Thanks

Well, it does not sound like Uncontrolled is checked, or else the a/c would at least be visible.

I think you have the a/c on a Late Start condition. Either the Late Start checkbox is ticked, or the Start Time of the a/c at its SP waypoint is not at the Start Time of the mission, as seen in the Briefing.

I create a new mission, choose the Red and Blue. I added a AI controlled Mig27 and gave it a flight path. I had Uncontrolled check and start time for the jet is the same as on the mission brief. Then I clicked Fly button and it defaults to the map screen with no icons for the jet or it's flight path. I hit F2 and nothing.

When I quit, the debrief says Mission start, Took control, Mission End.

Hmm

Is the MiG-27 starting on the ramp at an airbase? If I'm not mistaken that's the only scenario in which the "uncontrolled" box will spawn an empty MiG, otherwise it just considers the group unactivated.

I have the Mig starting on the ramp. Just for fun I added a player controlled aircraft and the AI Mig becomes active

Have you got "Fog of War" set in the options menu?

I had the exact same problem until I realised they were actually active on the map and F2 - but only when you get close enough...

I opened the mission you sent and clicked the Fly button and the mission opened on a MiG-23MLD in the hanger.

This a/c is set to Uncontrolled, so it won't go anywhere, as is. You can add a Triggered Action to Start the a/c, or uncheck the Uncontrolled box.

With the Uncontrolled unchecked, this a/c spins up in <30 seconds and taxis out.

Check your DCS World options. Look at the Gameplay tab.

I have these checked on --

Padlock
Labels
Allied Flight Reports

F10 View = All

My 'Use These Options For All Missions' is not checked.

(FYI. I develop and save my missions on this computer and host them on another computer.)

Ok thanks WC. I will check those options. Since the mission works on your rig and DCS setup then it must be some settings on my end

Thanks WC and Pizzi,

I think it was the Fog Of War setting that was causing the trouble. I also set the map options in the gameplay tab as well, just to be sure! LOL

Thanks again!

You can get the Combined Arms mod and use a Game Master during the mission design to see everything, regardless of the F10 view setting.

Thanks!

Where would I find those? Also, it possible to arm the drones in the game and can I add soliders into a mission, besides the MANPAD guys.

Combined Arms? Wait for a sale and you can buy it for like $7.

Reapers can be armed and assigned targets. You just have to select the right tasking for them to put weps on. Predators should be able to, too, I would think.

With CA, you can have AI a/c in the mission and a Game Master or a Tactical Commander can assign new routes and targets.

Yes, US and Russia have Infantry, under Armor. A MANPADS Commo guy will increase the range of a regular MANPADS if included in the same group.
