Yeah, welcoming the God of Wealth kept me awake all night... apparently this god is rather deaf and can only be welcomed with obscene amounts of fireworks.

There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the universe is for it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more inexplicable.
There is another theory which states that this has already happened.

Affirmative, deafness seems to be a recurring problem with the God of Wealth.
My CNY holiday got canceled at the last second, and found myself stuck in HK. Firecrackers and fireworks are a no no in HK.

I actually missed all the commotion that comes with celebrating the Lunar New Year.
Dodging the IEDs planted near the 7/11, extinguishing the small fires on the terrace, pulling the cat and dog from behind the fridge. All healthy fun.

Cheers,
Slug

don't start...
The question has made the frontpage of every frigging newspaper across Greater China.
This should be moved to PWEC biggrin

Cheers,
Slug

The Chinese (Mandarin) word for it is 'yang' which can mean both sheep or goat. Normally a second word is used to indicate which of the two is meant. However, that would interfere with the traditional 'yang' as this year is named.

Yeah. PWEC material.

The PWEC about it revolves around the decidedly
divergent character traits of sheep vs goats, and
what this might imply for the astrological predictive
or indicated appropriate behaviour of the population
in the coming year.

It's not PWEC yet. If it stays "light" it will not get there

Or, you know, it could mean jack squat because it's just an arbitrary label applied to an arbitrary time defined by someone a long time ago.

Oh,this is one of those cases where the PWEC is so deeply infused that no-one will realise it until the end is nigh! It's right up with the classic Po-tah-toe vs To-may-to wars.

Muhahahahaha!!!!

After all, what's more incendiary than a discussion
of the relative merits of sheep vs goats? Black sheep
or scapegoat, which makes the better cheese? This
must be handled with kid gloves. Don't let them pull
the wool over your eyes. It's Baaaad.

Goat vs. Sheep

The difference between the two is whether or not one is a sailor or his girlfriend.
