A-10Cs do own the night.

These are from White Bird.

Another screenie from the new 'Back Of The Hand' mission. This is ready for prime time, and it's almost the weekend!

Lots of Red armor and arty for the Blue A-10Cs and Su-25/Ts to take out. Roki tunnel is one of the targets and it's a favorite of mine. Watch out for MANPADS at the west entrance!

Running everything off of the APU and its generator. Battery & its inverter are off.

Geez that APU is noisy.

Whoops- did I create a stir with a bad word? Hard to tell what happened there- if I did... sorry about that.

Making a slooooooooooow recovery... first thing's first was to get the newest version downloaded and start doing some reading up on the ED side about what's going on. Just watched the Witchcraft tutorial- you know... when I first learned about it on the previous page I was under the impression it was an ED development- of course it wasn't. Pretty fantastic tool but I won't be able to work on it until I get home.

I did find all my old missions- but I might keep those in the archive since many of them were broken for various reasons that I'm not certain have been fixed. I've also learned that some of my favourite scripts for use were busted and not maintained. Fortunately Grimes has been keeping MIST up to date so that's just awesome.

I'm still running the same network speeds I was before- though my cable company terminated that program for people who didn't already have it... First I guess I need to make some missions that make it worthwhile! Expectedly I think I'll be sticking to what I know...

A big thing with the missions I was making before is they were very difficult to finish- and there was no real way to tell what state they were at. It got better near the end but I'll try to stick to shorter missions that involve less airframes so everyone is kept busy doing what their frame was designed to do. No more UH-1 SEAD operations.

Speaking of UH1... is wheel still around? I saw TC and mol contribute here recently- looking forward to seeing you guys around. Heard X-rays voice on a youtube video from awhile ago... Gordo... Snipor... See Wesley in Teamviewer every now and then but I don't know how to talk to him lol. Beans... how much of the old "crew" is still out there?

Anyway! I'll have to wait until after Wednesday to get anything real done since I can't get DCS on my laptop (too big)- but I have a new 240gb SSD waiting for me at home when I get off Tuesday night!

It's not the gas, it's the damn sinuses.

I have been under the weather since last w/e. In the middle of designing a new mission called 'Simply War' and have been sidetracked for most of the week. Didn't help that Embarking for Blue doesn't work, but Hueys can take up the slack to deliver A-Teams at any location on the map.

Hey, Eno -- glad to see you here. Yes, that Witchcraft is a nice tool. Like in this new mission, I'm just plopping down the coalition objects -- vehicles, buildings and Static Objects, and then using Witchcraft to place them together and also rotate them into the proper positions. It is great for lining up buildings and for getting vehicles in just the right place around structures and in the trees for concealment.

Nuke Plant has been running for a couple of days now. Not sure how far along Blue has gotten to completing it -- I wanted to join in last night... hope to tonight if I'm feeling better.

It's almost Friday!

Using Witchcraft to locate objects in a mission design --

Static FARP Tents placed on the map, and FARP with Static Objects Chinook & Blackhawk; the dark Chinook is a regular unit --

It took about ten minutes to arrange the FARP tents and the two SO helicopters!

This is what the placements look like in the ME. Note where the Outpost is in the ME, it would have taken a bunch of tries to get that located w/o Witchcraft, and probably 30-40 minutes --

About an hour to create this A-Team base --

I was having difficulties, maybe too many objects in the view. The ME F7 View kept unlocking from its unit and going back to the first vehicle in the mission. I put all AI on late activation but that did not help.

BE careful about saving the final changes in Witchcraft. DO NOT shut down the DCS mission until after Witchcraft is saved or you can lose all the edits.

Molasses asked me to add MiG-21Bis aircraft to the new Back Of The Hand mission, and we flew that last night with a good crowd on board.

Those -21s can load nukes! I'd like to see what a nuke would do to that rocket factory in the mission...

It's been a fun week.

I got into TS a few days ago and there was a crowd gathered for Bast's server. The guys were enjoying the mission and supporting each other, in different a/c. We got together a few times through the rest of the week and weekend.

---

The Vulcans vs. Sharks mission got compromised with a recent update. The Huey script that drops off Stinger Teams is causing client crashes -- remember those? The issue is known over at DCSW -- lol but I'm not sure what part of the code is the problem. It works in singleplayer but not in MP.

My 2 cents.....W.C. with all due respect please allow me to share this observation. When I go to the MP server and see your missions that have red vs blue with over 20 assorted aircraft involved and see the server is empty, I'm thinking....what sense would it make to fly an A-10C in there? None! I consider myself an average player and can't help but think that considering the server is often empty, others may have come to the same conclusion. IMO going back to the basics with smaller blue vs AI red missions for no more than 10 players would be much more attractive, especially if they were not loaded with SAMS that dominate the players objectives. Missions like GradEx as an example with perhaps some KA-50 tasking as well. I think there are still enough A-10C and KA-50 pilots that are looking for somewhere to go for some good old coop action to populate a server that provides it. Simple is good and more isn't always better.

eee, whatever, you can't please everyone...

Actually, I agree with you about simpler is often better.

But in the missions we flew this week, we had 4-8 folks in them and 3-4 different platforms being flown. Come join in sometime.

I must be looking too early in the evening. I know that different servers are more active at different times than others. Pay me no mind.

Used to be with the old Cougar you could hold in the trigger and plug in the connector to reset it or something... I don't know if the Warthog has that.

Back Of The Hand is up again.

Mol dropped a nuke on the rocket factory. The factory remained operational, the buildings and vehicles in the low-lying areas survived.

This is a nuke --
