Shredward, thanks for posting this. My day started with a hearty laugh when I read that "If the British had invented the bowling ball, it would have featured 27 parts and a proprietary battery.”

'Gotta admire someone who is willing to go the distance researching a 100-year old airplane,(such as the threading on parts) I hope his research has included the nuances of flying the beast. The Camel killed nearly 50% of its student pilots. It would be a pity if he spun it into the ground on first take-off. But what magnificent "authenticity"!

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But in practice, there is.

I'm betting that, given his background as both a pilot and a flight instructor, he has likely done his homework on the handling characteristics of this kite. What an ambitious project, and wouldn't a field trip to see it be a fine outing! Thanks for posting the link Shredward.

Awesome! Hope he remembers to retrieve the dash clock if he is forced down behind enemy lines!

The older I get, the more I realize I don't need to be Han, Luke or Leia. I'm just happy to be rebel scum...

biggrin Cute! I know William Barker tried to keep his for a souvenir but they chased him down and made him give it back!! Those British Brass Hats have no sense of leniency for an outstanding pilot it seems!
