I agree...although I won't elaborate because of the below ED forum rule and I enjoy sharing my real knowledge on the ED boards occasionally and don't want to get banned.

What if the "damaging information" is the truth? smile

I've noticed that ED uses terms a bit oddly. Based on that preview, calling it pre-alpha is a mega-misnomer. It might not yet be feature-complete, and therefore is not a beta, but no pre-alpha looks like that.

If ED was building a human being, they'd say it was pre-alpha until retirement at age 65 at which point it would enter beta...

Pardon me, but did someone expect to see it next week? Was there a release announcement I've missed or something?

That's a quote from Wagner. You might wanna chill down a bit on bashing people for not being fanatical about DCS.

I asked a question in good faith, to which you decided to write a snide response, regardless of many having asked for an adult and mature tone while discussing matters DCS on this board. So is this how we do it now?

90% of every thread in this forum contains the same complaints and attitude from the same people. Over and over and over...

Actually…I think that is a quote from EinsteinEP who wrote the article. One would assume that the info is based on what Wags told him.

As far as "did someone expect to see it next week" goes…if I remember right, there was an estimate given last year that said possibly December 2014…and then possibly early 2015. The article isn't specific…but when they state "this year? Most likely…" it sounds like they are giving it room to slip to 2016.

Don't you know? People don't like to hear anyone disagreeing with them anymore. They only want to hear how right they are from other people who think just like they do.

Want to make someone angry?
Tell them they're wrong.

Want to make them REALLY angry?
Show proof that they're wrong.

What to make them SUPER angry?
Show everyone else that they were wrong and are attempting to change their tune to make it seem like they weren't wrong, YOU understood THEM wrong.

For some reason I thought of Marshawn Lynch doing the superbowl press day memes when I read this. Competition isn't a bad thing.

Well there IS competition. RoF, BoS, IL-2 CoD & vanilla, you name it. The thing is there's no competition on this level wink

DCS has no competition!
It's the only real modern combat simulator. smile

But on the other hand, DCS is not a competitor to Il-2 series and won't be at least until it gets WW2 maps and period units.

Yes, but as it comes to CFSs in general there is indeed competition. But yeah, I definitely wouldn't mind seeing more devs producing realistic modern(ish) sims either! One can always dream...

But the thing is, ED does stuff for the pros / defence industry too, which gives them access to stuff most people including other devs won't see. So they kind of have an edge over the competition, no?

Yep, we're having issues from sheer load at the moment. It started more just as a whim as a place for Beach to write some nice AAR's and snowballed from there - apologies for any disruption, as it can take a couple of clicks to get through at the moment. There's plans to add more resources, but we're all at work etc. Hopefully soon though.

Each to their own. I'm having tons of fun building different scenarios for the Huey in the ME and then flying (failing) them biggrin
