Hi everyone,

I was just wondering if people that own FTX Global-Vector & FS Global 2010 just live with all the plateaus because of the flat and level airfields compared to the higher resolution mesh.

I know PILOTs had a tool in the past to bring the surrounding mesh up or down to the airfield, but on their website it says that will not work with FTX Global Vector.

Is this just something I'll have to live with as a limitation of FSX/P3D? I'm alsmost considering just not using FS Global Mesh because of this, I live in Las Vegas so KLAS is an airport I'd actually like to use without seeing these plateaus.

Thanks

I bought both Global and Vector on release and was horrified by the massive changes in terrain with huge holes and cliffs. Clearly there was big compatibility issues. The problem was there was no uninstall option of Vector which was the one causing the problems and you had to delete certain files to get rid of it. In the end I did a re-install leaving off Vector and never bothered with it again and only used Global. I never tried any updates because I didn't want the risk of another re-install but it sounds like the problems have not been sorted. Vector was a waste of money for me.

The Airport Elevation Correction program that comes with Vector isn't working for you? You can manually configure the elevation there. I've never done it myself but I've read that it works to correct most issues.

Last I looked, that tool wasn't available for Vector. You just get a list of airports that can either be "corrected" or not.

Anyway, I think I've spent my last dollar on FSX. I've never had an easy time getting it set up, getting it to run well, and just enjoying a flight.

I hope more companies like A2A and PMDG come over to X-Plane, because between the freeware, flight models, runways that contour to the terrain, and night lighting, I'm having a way better time in that sim. I will give FSX a proper burial though I promise.
