** Pls don't turn this into yet another 'they should have unlocked the mods for everyone for free' thread (yes, they should). If that's the discussion you want to start (again) pls start a separate thread. **

Took me a while to work out how to find the magical red unlocks button. But eventually I found it - you have to go to il2sturmovik.com and log in (not the forums, and not through the game) and in the PROFILE settings menu you will find it. Click ACTIVATE, log out, log in again five minutes later the button should be GREY if it worked. Now when you start the game, the mods should all be unlocked.

Strange side effect: my pilot was reset to Level 1.

I've never read anywhere an official explanation of what the pilot levels mean (I know what people think they mean, but have never seen a good explanation from the devs) so I don't know if this even means anything. But if it does mean better AI or more of them, then it is annoying I've been sent back to trainee AI and fewer of them.

Anyone noticed any other weirdness?

Have they unlocked the unlock button now or is it still under modelled compared to the other buttons on that page? duh

They might have to restrict some of it's functionality to avoid aggressive community feedback, clearly it is too complicated for mere mortals.

Did you log out and back in again as per instructions to activate it?

Re pilot level being reset, seems like a small bug in GUI not actually resetting

Same happened to me. I sent in a support ticket and it was fixed after about 1/2 hour.

As I have everything unlocked already I save this button for future use (if any), LOL.

If it puts me back to Level 1 pilot I might not hit that button.....It's crazy we can't choose our own levels in this game....These guys have tried to standardize everything so they can do as less as possible in maintaining customer satisfaction.....It's the same for the presets...and the FMB limited access. Oh well...no big deal, if we've learned anything after thousands and thousands of words...it's that change comes about very slowly, if at all with this company and to their detriment...

Reports in the bug forum indicate that people are still seeing their original level shown on the website login page, but their ingame profile is showing level 1,

Hmmm, level 1 again. Maybe I should demand that they relock my unlocks? Wonder what that will cost me?

I get that error on my tablet using Chrome and on my spare laptop with Linux/Firefox but not on my gaming laptop with Win7/Firefox. Not sure what's going on there.

This glitch fixed now. The red button works as advertised with no obvious side effects (twitch).

So does it not reset your pilot level now?

Seems to be fixed now, your pilot level is back where it was. Not that I think it makes a smick of discernable difference. I just flew a Level 7 He111 campaign mission. Not intercepted. Zero enemy aircraft. One random flight of friendly fighters crossed our paths. AAA benign.

AI skill and difficulty is supposed to improve as pilot level increases. I don't see it. Not in bombers/ground attack missions anyway. Maybe it is noticeable if you are flying fighters?

All of my in-game stats and pilot level are back where they were. But my in-game flight hours are still at zero. Not that I care. Most of my 73 flight hours were logged by AUTO-Cloyd anyway. I still might go back to the lame campaign to unlock those skins. At least that gives some reason to play it, thinking of it as a QMB with a quasi-random mission generator.

I think they're missing an opportunity with their "campaign". If they made some more templates for it and called it a random mission generator, like the UQMG from IL2 days, they could provide some more content for us SP guys.
