Totally targeted marketing.

I get...
car adds (lots of Jeeps ones)
Ammunition whole sales. They really want me to buy 9mm.
Flight sim stuff
Firearms sales stuff...cheaper than dirt.
Oh and now hunting in Argentina? HMM K...
Lawyers for VA appeals process.

So from that.... I want to go to south America with a jeep with lots of ammo. yep i sound crazy!

Inline advert (2nd and 3rd post)

Apparently there are so many Local Women (only 1.2 miles from one town over from me!) that want to have sex with me that I am going to need a diverse assortment of "male enhancement" products to keep up with it.

Unsolicited offers of sex and companies begging to be able to take some credit for my irresitable virile attraction is the price of being such an all around stud-muffin hunk of a man, though, so I take it in stride.

Seriously, I get Amazon ads for CH Products, car dealership ads, and the like. Best of all, NO MORE VIDEO ADS forcing the site to come to a crawl! Hurray!

None on my laptop (all blocked) but I do get the ones for flight controllers on my tablet.

Hehe, Adblock. On a related note, Adblock + YouTube + make a playlist = Best free music service ever!

All my cookies are session only except for the
SimHQ system ones, and I adblocked one particularly
annoying purveyor of video ads, once, so I'm getting
stuff which is presumably purely based on my general
location and browsing within the SimHQ site. This
is currently a full set of amazon flight controller
ads, but often I get telus internet, and some generic
canadian bank ads.

None.

I haven't used the internet without an adblocker in ages.

I always find it highly disturbing when I see what the www looks like for some of my friends/family. Open a webpage-> audio ads, blinking banners, animations, complete video adds, pop-ups, pop-unders, pop-in-your-face, it's insanse.

The free websites I use frequently I rather support with small-ish donations than having to suffer that kind of crap.

LOL, the forum made and "autolink" to CH Products at Amazon (bet it did it again) in my post, but not for "male enhancement."

Same as WileECoyote.

I don't really pay attention to the ads but loading them takes so much in resources on my aging XP laptop that I have to turn off the plug-in container for firefox to get topics to load here. It can seriously take up to a minute or more sometimes as soon as I kill the plug-incontainer.exe the topics load like changing a channel. I have a fairly decent high speed connection and this is the only site I really have the problem with. The problem with ads in the background is I wouldn't click on them if my life depended on it. I've never clicked on an ad on purpose EVER! So I although I understand it helps bring in revenue but I'm guessing the ads are lost on most people here.

I've got a bad feeling about this.....

Same here, except I also just saw an ad for IHS, some kind of technology warehouse.
