How do I change the default starting plane and airport? I'm tired of this F35 at Langley. I tried the SimDirector and saved what I thought was a permanent change, but as soon as a rebooted my PC, I was right back to F35 and Langley Air Force Base. I had to "load" the alternate start. I want to change it permanently.

I make sure the little tick box (Show on start)on the create scenario screen is ticked so the sim boots straight into the create scenario screen rather than a flight. I then load or create whichever flight I fancy.

When you save a flight in the create scenario window you have the option of setting that flight as the new default.

You can also use tools like the freeware SimLauncherX that gives you more options

Cheers,

Cheers,

Thanks very much. But saving default flights with different aircraft and airports for the start accomplishes the same thing. I don't want to have to load flight or create scenario. Why can't we just permanently change the default start like we can in FSX? I like P3D v2 a lot. Default graphics are better than FSX, although I'm running P3D v2 on a new rig. Perhaps I should load FSX on the same PC for comparison purposes. At least you can permanently change the default start in FSX.

You easily can.
Open up P3d. Go to MENU > Flights > Create Scenario.

Change your location, aircraft, time, weather, etc to whatever you want to be the default.
Click on "Save" in the lower left corner.

The following screen will appear. You have to click on the "default" button before you save it. Once saved it will then become your default flight.
