Oh, no. No. I'm so sorry, Mag. I really am.

I know what he meant to you. He had your back, and you had his.

RIP, Shadow. You served well and honorably.

Awww Chuck, just now seeing this. I'm so sorry. Really hate to hear this.

Worst thing about dogs are they don't live long enough.

My condolences. I remember you mentioned sometime back about dreading this day. They are truly man's best friend.

Really sorry to hear this.
Odd, how close a dog can get to a man.
I remember every one of mine, like they were with me yesterday.
I've had a dog by my side, all my adult life.
Working with them, must be something special.
Shepard's are exceptionally intelligent, I would imagine, they get exceptionally close.
My condolences, but not much helps.

I'm truly sorry.

Sorry to read this. It's hard when a pet dog dies, I find it difficult to imagine how much harder it must be considering the intensity of the relationship you must develop with a working dog like Shadow.

cheers
Gareth

Sorry for your loss Magnum. Our animals always have and always will be a part of the family, and their loss is always very difficult.

So sorry for your loss magnum.

I've dealt with it many times,

and I still feel guilty that my one dog passed on less than 2 minutes after nurse took him to the back to be put on monitors, while my other dogs and cat passed in my arms/lap.

The one I had for nearly 16 years was the one I was closest too, and he was the one that passed on by himself.

My condolences.

My sister had a dog that she had since high school.

It passed away last month one day during the day - it laid down at its favorite spot in the house and went to sleep forever.

My sister got the phone call from her husband while she was at work.

I heard she couldn't stop crying, she almost fainted, she left work early and she ended up taking 3 days off.

Thanks again everyone.... in the military, 85-95 it worked that way, the dogs stayed at units, handlers came in, worked them for 3 to 4 years then left... civilian LE has always been your dog from day one till end... minus the fact that the department "officially" owned that dog while it was working for them, so they could take it away.

So sorry to hear Magnum.

Hard to loose them for sure.

We have a White German Shepherd "Gail" we got from a local rescue 1 1/2 years ago and our Lab buddy we have had over 4 years now.

They are like our kids.
