I decided to buy the Channel Battles edition while it was on sale on Steam (I already own RoF non-Steam edition) but I was looking to buy the Felixstowe and the Channel map and decided to go with the Steam edition to get both.I knew you couldn't combine accounts but no matter.

I started a career tonight and chose the Channel and WTF? there are no aircraft that came with the game that I can use?? Or am I missing something here?

Wish I'd just bought them as DLC for the non-Steam version now.

I don't recall exactly, but the Channel map career is far more limited in which planes are supported than the standard maps. Obviously both seaplanes are in there, but beyond that I don't know which are. Luke would know.

Yeah,I would have thought I could use the Felixstowe in the career but no.

From their sales blurb
Quote:
New Pilot Career over the Channel Map and Special “Channel Battles” mission-set are included featuring the gigantic Felixstowe F.2a flying boat.
and yet there is no option to start the Channel career with the Felixstowe.

If I choose career and mouse over the Channel map it states 'all airplanes (including seaplanes and flying boats) which are presented in Rise of Flight world'.

Misleading or what?

You gotta change the date to choose the Felixstowe. Use the Filter by Plane function on the career creation screen.

Well I don't have the Steam version of Channel Battles but it's supposed to come with the Felixstowe. Is it available in quick missions?

I'm running a Felixstowe pilot in B Career so it should work.

Ok,I selected the Felixstowe on the career creation screen and it was available from June-November 1918.There are no airbases for seaplanes available at that time that list the Felixstowe.

I really don't get it. I can select it in the individual missions but not the career. I assume that one can fly it in the career?

Try flying from Felixstowe from the 25th May 1918.

Thanks Prangster I'll try tomorrow. Of course it could just be me,this is the first time I've attempted a career. I assume that once you select the date you are limited to the airbases shown on the map. I tried quite a few dates in the timescale given for the Felixstowe to no avail. I was thinking that it shouldn't be this difficult to set this up.

Well I don't know what's going on,I just checked and yes it is there! I'm positive that the base at Felixstowe wasn't there at that date, maybe I didn't scroll the map up enough. It probably didn't help that I had no idea where Felixstowe was banghead

Thanks guys for all your patience with the silly old fool.

Prangster,I'll try out your Spider's Web when I get the chance, thanks.
