I hope someone can answer this and that it is an easy fix (or user error on my part).

I was doing some home defense mission in the BE2c, and I noticed that my engine was barely pushing it's max. I turned on autopilot and it revved fully to what I had expected and began to climb faster. The moment I undid the autopilot, I'd tank back down to "snails pace" and couldn't speed back up using my throttle in every which way. Even messed with the mixture, etc. I thought it was just the plane type as it's earlier, but noticed that suddenly this is happening to almost every plane type I try. My speeds have kept me just above the "stall occurring" warning.

So, in an attempt to see what I may have done, I restarted my computer, and all programs with the throttle on 0, hoping that maybe that was the issue. Again, nothing.

Any help would be awesome, as I have this lingering feeling that I'm missing something simple. But hey, that's what the forum is for!

Cheers

Have you tried a mission on "Auto Mixture" to see if that helped? Or turning off "Random Failures"?

This forum is like a bunch of mind readers here. Seems like when I think I have an issue someone on here posts something similar.
Just got back from a SE5 campaign flight and I was thinking that my engine was lacking power too. I figure I must have had a equipment failure and missed the message. Or perhaps I was flying like a dim-wit and not conserving energy in the fight.
The previous flight I experienced a "oil sump/pressure" problem and had to return to base. I didn't get a tell tale change in engine noise with that.

If you have throttle levers on your joystick, do move it up and down to adjust itself, prior to starting your engine. same goes for moving ailerons, elevators, rudder etc. As it was in real. It might happen that it is not calibrated correctly with your joystick and then it is not working properly.

Regarding sounds, engine failures, depending on engine type, have many different variants. Sometimes there is nothing audible at all. There is not always a noise signal. That is making it a bit more interesting.

DukeIronHand.....I'm going to try the auto mixture setting...that's what I think it might be. I know when I use the Bristol fighter when coming out of autopilot the engine goes straight to 0 and shuts off practically. I got flustered and put her in a noise dive and after dropping 1000ft, the engine restarted. Maybe I have a haunted computer.

You can usually tell if the throttle is not making full movement by looking at the throttle lever in the cockpit. As you move the joystick control, see what the on-screen throttle is doing. If it is not moving 'full throw' then that will perhaps be a clue that there is a controller mapping issue.

Check you have no other controller using the same axis - check our website help or download pages for the latest FAQ download there are sections on setting and checking controllers and clearing other non used axis. Or check your joystick is calibrated. When in sim, as others mention above, move your controller axis fully

Advise if you think the "Auto mixture" cures your issue.
I see you mentioned the "Autopilot".

I may be imagining things but it seems like once in a blue moon the engine lacks power when I come off of Autopilot for the remainder of the mission. Throttle says 100% but it don't feel like it or sound like it. Very rare though and I am never sure if it's my flying or something is really happening.

This problem has been around since WOFF v1.0. The way you fix it is the moment you come out of "auto-pilot" you move your throttle lever from "10" to "0" and back to where ever you want it. FIXED!!!

As a rule of thumb always go to full throttle again when leaving autopilot. What I do is to keep the throttle always at 100%. When leaving autopilot, I hit 0 and it will restore full throttle again.

Yes I am up on that.
Sometimes though it doesn't feel like it's really at 100%.
Might be dumb flying on my part causing a poor energy state.
