"Rise of Flight"!...Is there a SimHQ squad?...Is there something happening in week ends?...I remember a couple of years ago, it was a big deal.
Did "IL*2 Battle of Stalingrad" took over the interest?
How is it now?...just people playing SP campaigns?
What is the status?

I jump on the MP servers now and then, yes. There was a squad, I was never apart of it though. I love flying solo.

Not part of any SimHQ squad but my squad, 20th Bomber Group is active in New wings wargrounds server. That server can get very busy at any given time.

No SYN Server is not in Russia, it is in Netherlands. Many fine MP servers for RoF depending on the type of action you need (quick dogfight, or more historical), and yes SYN puts on a great squad objective-based mission on Sunday afternoon/evening (GMT) that regularly maxs out the server player limit (N=75). Also, many special event through the year, for example 'Bloody April' organized by Jasta 5 squadron. I'm East coast N.America and SYN ping is perfectly fine for me and my other squad mates on W. Coast USA. We regularly get kills Now, if you are in Australia, that may be different...

I reside in West Coast and the ping for the "Syndicate" server on IL-2 is 180. Which is not fine in games where reflex's speed is a must. I am a lot slower today with a stick, than I was 30 years ago.
Besides, RoF is for dedicated servers, and each time I connect I don't see any servers on.
Finally, regarding certain geographic areas of Europe, I am not up for the servers supporting a young crowd fascinated by "evil", claiming "Deutschland Uber Alles" and making racist remarks.
That's for the Homo sapiens neanderthalensis living in a Paleolithic period , from which we evolved for never going back to it, and I am not revisiting this even virtually!
But thank you. I am sure with the new improvements of RoF, the theatre of operation will offer a revival of servers and better choices.

...Besides, RoF is for dedicated servers, and each time I connect I don't see any servers on. I would suggest you unclick "Mods-on" in game settings, you'll see a lot more servers... Hope this helps clarify. Finally, regarding certain geographic areas of Europe, I am not up for the servers supporting a young crowd fascinated by "evil", claiming "Deutschland Uber Alles" and making racist remarks. I'm going to assume you are not implying that this goes on on our server? We do not tolerate racist remarks on "Syndicate" server... That's for the Homo sapiens neanderthalensis living in a Paleolithic period , from which we evolved for never going back to it, and I am not revisiting this even virtually! Actually, we did not "evolve" from Homo sapiens neanderthalensis, that was a dead-end lineage on the human tree. All fossil evidence points to anatomically modern Homo sapiens sapiens emerging from Africa and migrating into the rest of world, likely interacting with neandertals in a variety of ways such as conflict and perhaps some interbreeding, but no neandertal ancient DNA (aDNA) has been discovered in our gene pool as of yet.

Making racist comments like yours, Gunnyhighway? Why even throw something like that in there?

I am sure that no servers endorse officially what is said, writen during gameplay or on forums.
Do you monitor what players say to each other during gameplay and systematically ban players for crossing the line?...Do you read text during gameplay?...Listen to the voice conversation during gameplay?...Or do you wait for a gamer to complain?...
What is your policy and how do you reinforce it?
I haven't played on your servers yet, but I have read some posts from people pretending playing there.
I have also 20 years of experience of gaming, and what I described and would call the "Germany Uber Alles" syndrome or complex is real among gamers. Moreover, it has been a growing trend the last 5 to 7 years.
Besides, for some gamers starting gaming in the middle of that trend, it is not something "weird" as they can not compare to the way it was 5 to 7 years ago or before.
What happened during WWII was not a joke, and playing games that portray the technology of that time, should not be a venue to re-enact the attitude associated with some belligerent side of that conflict.

Not sure what you guys are fighting about? Gunny - are you implying that all Europeans are neo-nazi youth or something? This is a bit mystifying.
Anyway, as for Homo sapiens neanderthalensis, a large body of research is suggesting that modern populations may have 0.5-4% of their genetic material from interbreeding - although, this being paleo-anthropology - the arguing is viscious and people don't give up their positions until evidence is incredibly overwhelming.
Also, I see no particular reason to think that neaderthals were more bigoted, closed minded, or violent than modern people - I mean, these are skills we've perfected, haven't we? Kindof off-topic though...

Kindof off-topic though... Funny how the all or nothing thinking is used to derail a post!...Suddenly what I wrote was turned into and I quote Aviminus "all Europeans are neo-nazi youth"...I did not write "all" and I certainly did not used the term "neo-Nazy". As for the Neanderthal and the Paleolithic, it was a metaphor to the second degree that passed obviously way over head of most. Yet it is easy to get hang up on that metaphor and to focus and neat pick about the % of DNA we have, than to recognize a trend happening in the gaming community when it comes to game portraying WWII technology, and the attitude of some gamers associated with it. Ignoring it or pounding on whistle blowers , will not make it go away.
