I got it and find it to be rather frustrating. The controls are optimized for console. I don't recommend you buy it until they optimize the keyboard and mouse controls.

edit:

It's not like Skyrim. More like Baldur's Gate in many respects.

It's an excellent, atmospheric RPG that suffers from some bad PC controls and too many MMORPG-like quests (many of which you can ignore if you want to).

If you liked Dragon Age: Origins chances are good you'll like Inquisition.

And it's very, very pretty.

yep

I'm playing it on the PC - and I'm having a great time with it.

A gazillion times better than DA2.

It has a pretty large world - it is very sandbox/open ended so far. Skyrim is a hard game to judge other games up against. The main selling point of Skyrim has always been it's openness, while the Dragon Age games has always been about the story.

If you liked Skyrim or DA Origins you will love it. I am having no isues with the controls on my PC. You can do all sorts of quests like (like Para said) but you don't HAVE tio do them. I'm reminded of when I first started playing WoW and was not in a guild and just loved to explore and do quests.

The graphics are nice and the music is good PLUS, if you play your cards right, you can have "a roll in the hay" with some of the female leads ( or males if that is your style ) biggrin

I would recommend it highly

Just completed it. Quite entertaining game and I enjoyed it, much better than DA2 and I hope BioWare learns from DAI when making ME4. The finale is a little bit lackluster but nowhere near the colossal screw up of ME3. Once the game is completed you can continue on playing.

I was wondering if it would appeal to someone like me.

I hated Skyrim with a passion. The level scaling, bad combat, and after a while I just got bored to tears.

I loved DA Origins. Not a big fan of DA2. I loved NWN 1 and 2. I loved Dragons Dogma.

Is DAI a good step back to Origins type? I have not read many in depth review just in case I want to pick it up I dont want any spoilers.

DA I is very much like DA Origins. You can even set up the Draogn Age Keep so that the "history" that gets referred to in game matches how you played DA I. I was really hoping to be able to play my old character but sadly you can't do that. Morrigan shows up though and Lilliannna and lots of other homage to DA1. Varrick & Hawk are there from DA2 as well.

I'm pretty happy with it - I thought DA2 was meh, but loved DAO.

Graphics are gorgeous and the game world is stunning. PC controls are pretty meh, but that's my only gripe..

Well that at the amount of social justice they force down your throat..

I thought they were releasing a fix to help smooth out the PC controls.

I might pick it up this weekend, but have no desire to use a gamepad.
