. Greetings All, After thinking on Pol's comment about the twelve global layers that must be dealt with in order to add a new facility into the WOFF landscape I decided to do some digging, and I believe I have it figured out. Began building Goldhanger Air Station this AM by using existing WOFF parts and templates and have it a good way along already. Still some tweaking and fine tuning to do but I wanted to share a few screenies of what I have thus far. Not a precise match to the original, but close enough for government work. My kung fu is strong. .

. Thanks Hellshade and MFair, glad to know it's looking good to others as well. And please keep in mind that I am simply building with the many, many beautiful bits and pieces already provided in WOFF so the real kudos go to the dev team for providing all this in the first place. It's rather like playing with Legos, and I loved Legos as a kid. .

Wow, Lou, without knowing the real Goldhanger airfield, I guess you got it as close at it gets!
Now I wonder if such user-built airfields could get implemented into WOFF? I would be ready to build some, like Roucourt or Boistrancourt just for the fun of having them!

Thanks Duke, Olham, and MudWasp, appreciate the feedback Gents.
Olham, Roucourt and Boistrancourt are two dromes I am going to attempt next, (which answers MudWasp's wonderings). To that end any and all good pics you have of these two dromes would be very helpful.

I'll send you a PM with my pics, Lou! I wonder if such a modded field could be made to replace the original airfield via JSGME, without hampering WOFF using this base like it would before?

Wow, great job! Are you saying that given the tools and skills we can populate WOFF with more little villages etc.? I remember someone said almost a year ago that OFF had more scattered buildings and small towns. Is it very resource consuming? I'd love to have more landmarks.

. Thank you Pol, much appreciated. Yes, quite right about it not showing up in the manager or having squads assigned to it. While it is a usable aerodrome it would take you devs to write it into an active campaign role. Someday, perhaps ... someday. Works great for my purposes now though and it's shown me that I can likely tweak specific active dromes in the sim so they might appear more as they should. Boistrancourt is the one I am currently looking to giving a go at next. Thanks to you too Rover, and you could create little villlages and such if you wanted to. They would have to be built as a facility and then placed in the WOFF landscape. .

Olham, JSGME would be the way to go and easy to remove if WOFF later incorporates the contents. Making them JSGME ready would not be difficult.

Lou, I'm late to this thread but if I can be of any help I am willing to work with you to build a JSGME installation version. Just PM me so we can dialogue if you like.

Olham, as long as I can sort out all the files that need to be changed and/or added a JSGME install should work great. And Robert, thanks for the offer, I was going to approach you with that very request once I had things far enough along for others to try out.

If you're going to try building a completely new airfield, I recommend this tutorial (scroll to the bottom of the page -"gMax Static Object Tutorial"): http://www.mrjmaint.com/RegsHanger/Groun...FS3%20Stuff.phpOnce you get the hang of it, this method is really easy and quite precise. Building facilities (xml files that define building placement of different installations like airfields, train stations, etc) works the same in CFS3 and WOFF. And Lou has already demonstrated he knows how to get it to show up in game.

Gecko, thanks for the link, I am sure folks will find it useful. I actually create and edit new XML files by using previous ones as templates and writing directly in the file. I've found it easier and quicker to place and fine tune objects in the file itself rather than using the editor.
Ron, it would take quite some time to explain in detail how I fumble through the process of creating or reworking an existing facility and then place it into the WOFF virtual world. The process requires first building the facility, which is explained quite well in the link provided by Gecko, and then editing the global_layer files so that the new facility will appear in the landscape. I am still in the learning curve with some of this myself so my tutorials might well lead you astray at this point.
