Wrist break that happened in high school and arthritis has done me in. Controllers and gamepads from now on. Only thing I can do now to play video games for longer than twenty minutes that doesn't make my wrist ache for hours afterward.

Getting older sucks.

After my repetitive injury to my spine while in Iraq I cant do #%&*$# I use to do. Now that the big 40 is getting way to damned close its getting worse and worse. It really SUCKS when something you like to do gives you stupid pain. =(

See it on the plus side, the amount of games with pad support is going trough the roof these days. You could take up racing?

Feel for you Pfunk, got nerve damage to my left hand and makes playing games painful after a short time, 6months on from my operation to try and correct it and I still have little feeling other pins and needles in my fingers.

Well, it sucks, on of my fears it getting old and being unable to understand/play/be fast enough for my beloved games. But, just wanted to say, you did see a doctor, right? It is really easy to suffer from bad posture with mice and keyboards. You might end up attributing your pain to your old injuries but it might be a combination of things as well.

How knows, not that you will miss much considering FPS are the same time over and over these days.

this sucks to hear Pfunk, I don't know why but lately I get almost motion sickness from some of these games if I play too long. Get a really bad headache anything over an hour. I usually rage quit before that because I'm just not fast enough on some of these games so it's probably for the best...

They're games where you send your troops off on a route and all of your radios stop functioning and your generals all lose the ability to make decisions for a month/year/random chunk of time while a turn is taken

ah, that would seem boring to me. I can play Battlefield and Titan Fall with no issues, it's just those damn run and gun style games that give me almost a vertigo feeling after playing a while. I realize TF is run and gun, but its not as bad as CoDAW

Maybe something a bit less ADD-paced? Arma or Steel Beasts or something?

Oh, I forgot, this might be a good opportunity to try one of those ergonomic "vertical" mice. They say they're really good. I tried one just for a couple of minutes and it seemed to do the job.

My PC really doesn't run ARMA II very well, I still have it installed but I just don't play it enough.

ARMA II? You must have a pretty outdated PC. ARMA III came out over a year ago.

Not to derail but your vertigo might be caused by the FoV of some games.

Many years ago after way too much graphic work on the pc I started to get wrist problems in my right wrist. Dr. said no more graphic work but I decided to learn to use my left wrist instead and after a few months it seem natural. Today I can use either one so if one starts to bother me I just switch. Also there are some amazing wrist exercises you can do to help, check google for wrist exercises.
