Dunno, Track IR was one of the few things that worked great for me. Servers were dodgy- lost quite some connection. First happening in a looong time.
In the end they added so MUCH good that I'm really impressed. Do these guys sleep at all?!

Pooched all my keyboard commands, defaults didn't even work. I had to go and re-enter everything.
Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty. This is known as "bad luck.” -Robert Heinlein

That's true. Apparently they made a change in how the different keyboard-nationalities are registered in game so that each country specific key is recognised correctly. That definitely broke stuff...
Luckily DCS lua it ain't! :P

Same for me, all keyboard controls were gone, stick setup was stil correct, though. Also have the impression that TIR feels different - didn't mess with it, but it looks like there is a slider in the game options that might affect that?! As they messed some other options, maybe this issue is linked to that as well. But I disabled X, Y, Z and roll axis in my Elite profile anyway, (so far) I only really see the need for yaw and pitch.
Anybody found the secret already - there was a thread going on the Frontier forum, but I can't check it now...
I didn't see this in the release notes, but they seem to have increased the detailed scan range for the smaller bodies, especially the asteroid belt clusters went up from ~5-25Mm to ~5Ls.

So we're on gamma 2.02 now.
Unfortunately, I've spent three hours in it tonight and my glass feels much less than half empty. I'm in a Hauler at the moment so my options for gaining credits are pretty limited.
The galaxy map indicated that Chimba imported marine equipment. Chimba had five stations, all with commodity markets. None of these had *any* demand for marine equipment. Not 'low', or the opportunity to sell at a loss, they just wouldn't accept it at all.
Having finally offloaded the marine equipment at Freng for a measly profit of 500 credits/tonne (after wasting the best part of an hour) I took a mission from the bulletin board to deliver something or other to Huilliche. 12,000 credits or something, which seemed decent until arriving in the system and finding the destination was 320,000Ls away.
That took 15 minutes of staring at nothing by supercruise. At least they've cut down the interdiction frequency otherwise I'd never have made it.
After that I tried to use the galaxy map to check trading info, and it just hung while attempting to retrieve data for a system so I had to ctrl+alt+del.
I really don't feel very inclined to restart it. The obvious bugs and network issues are one thing but there are so many fundamental design problems, particularly related to trading, that I really don't know if I can justify investing the time necessary to progress anywhere in ED.

As I see it, they should give up on trying to have a complex interactive economy. It's just too hard to do right. With how quickly and drastically supply and demand change, it's just not realistically workable. IMO, if you find a system that produces a commodity and another one that imports it, that trade route should *always* be profitable, just perhaps to varying degrees. They should get rid of the supply and demand unit limits as well, or at the very least work a two-tier system, one for 'rare' items, and one for everyday commodities.
It seems to me FDev trying to control the effects of the people who have the time and are willing to spend 8 hours a day trade grinding, not to mention using extra-game tools and collaboration to take advantage of the system. If that's how they want to play, that's fine with me, but it shouldn't screw up the economy for people who want to play at a reasonable pace and don't have to earn a million credits in a week.
Right now, trading in Freelancer with its permanently fixed prices is more appealing to me.

Hi,
I know how you feel, as I told in another thread here, I managed myself to get into a REALLY dead section of the Galaxy, low trade, low paying missions and so on. This time I skipped the Hauler and saved up for a Cobra in my Sidey.
Very slow progress, even when I got the Cobra.
But for me, this IS the appeal of ED. Think of being a trader in the middle ages or even earlier. You jump out to the unknown. Will it be profitable? Don`t know. But I keep trying, and I`m sure , I`ll find something out there. You know what, since Gamma, even though having visited 70+ systems, I still haven`t found a High Tech system. And I still love it.
ED isn`t about fast progress. We have a whole Galaxy to explore.
May take some time. And most probably for me, a long way to get into "Solenopsis III", an ASP Explorer.

I have to say I found making money rather easy since I started playing again last weekend.
Did transport missions in a Sidewinder until I could afford a Hauler. Continued doing transport missions and added trading and mining and got myself a Cobra yesterday. I basically earned half a mio credits in 4 evenings, roughly 40-50k credits per hour.
Mining especially can be VERY profitable if you hit a rich metallic belt.

Hey Brun, it'd be no problem for me if you wanted some help. I can dish you out more or less 1200k worth of goods. Gold or whatever, get a sizeable hull. Double it or triple it if we manage to get close enough (I'll explain). I don't mean to pave your virtual way with gold but I know how tough it can be if your starting point is less than... stellar . Also getting out of the gash you find yourself at the beginning is part if the fun and I don't want to spoil that. Being both within a time zone we can work out a plan pretty easily. Let me know.

I played the latest patch last night and had 2 hard locks of my computer forcing me to kill the computer whilst running.
Anyone else experiencing this?
Also as a side note, not sure how I feel about it but I have only noticed that you can get a loan for insurance if you dont have enough cash. Kinda takes away some of the risk.
