This series has went off the rails really. I'm going to go out on a limb include this with Mad Max Fury Road as turkeys to avoid.

I'll most likely give it a shot in the theatre even if it gets bad reviews. I'm just curious to see how this new take on the franchise will look like. Both Terminator 3 and Salvation were forgettable films even if not terrible. I guess we'll see how this one turns out.
And judging by this trailer, the action does seem to be over the top.
“Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you.”
I won't include a spoiler tag, since the trailer already reveals the 'surprise'- a Terminator has already been with Sarah Connor and protecting her and mentoring her waiting for more Terminators sent from the future. So that recycles a concept from T2 with Schwarzenegger again as a protector and friendly Terminator. I never found this turn in the series remotely worthy of the first film, it's kind of painful to endure.

Uhhhh T3 was terrible . Salvation was alright.. This looks interesting.. I see the Mother of Dragons has moved on.. It could be interesting. It looks sort of like the Star Trek reboot..
Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.

The funny thing is that with the setting you can do reboots like this and they'll still be 100% part of the same universe. Got to love time travel paradoxes

Just imagine what these movies could be in- dunno- ten/twenty years !?!
LAWL, basically more terminators and Sarah Connor than average humans, Doc. Emmett Brown and Marty McFly running about, all the while dodging Proton streams from Ghostbusters backpacks...

Looks like it blows up real good to me!
Now they need to make one where the terminators go back to the Old West to take out Sarah Conner's Great-Great-Grandmother. Sort of an Aliens And Cowboys thing. Hand cranked gatlin guns FTW. Dynamite with long fuses burning whipping through the air, thrown from horseback. Bill Paxton stars as the character who we all really like but know is going to die. And he does.
The opinions of this poster are largely based on facts and portray a possible version of the actual events.
They need to make one where it's just the war against the machines, post judgement day. No time travel, no Connor/Reese storyline, just a straight up war movie, man vs machine. Those scenes were always my favorite.

Same here, didn't care for the drama. If T2 had just been a properly done war film in the future (like the couple short scenes the movie already had) I'd have enjoyed it quite a bit.
Scully: Victim died of multiple stab wounds. Mulder: *throws her a file* Ever heard of the knife alien?

+1 Cant remember where I heard/read it, But Cameron wanted to do just that. Make the movie set in future war. Two hour of future war no sentimentality no Arnie unless he is a bad ass killing machine just like in the original movie just man v Machine. now that would be sweet

Sad thing is (IIRC) supposedly in T2 they actually planned for a whole lot more war scenes, they have concept art of John's squad exploring various bizarre facilities the machines were running.
Also, what ever happened to movies modifying guns so they look futuristic? I'm really getting sick of seeing Tavors, Augs, and AR15s in every movie, I see them on a weekly basis and it gets pretty old. I miss movies like Aliens, Star Wars, and even Terminator where they took guns and made them totally aesthetically different yet still functional.

Add me to the "lets get to the future war" fan crowd. The original movie was more horror than scifi, that was just the twist on having a relentless psycho after you. No one was huge like Arnie back then, now it's commonplace, but back then that added to the fear part. He punched through a guy's chest just for CLOTHES man! Killed Slider in his skivvies just to check the answering machine. Carved off his own flesh because, what, flies bothered him? No, just to freak us out! Then he turned into a walking skeleton with glowing red eyes and a Joker grin on his face. The subsequent movie lost that in exchange for campy humor and a buff Linda (the Linda part was a good choice though).
I want to see more of the effects of Judgment Day on the human race and their fight to survive on a large scale. Salvation was pretty cool, but too much cheese about John Connor, hearts, and no good explanation or backstory on the main character and WHY we should like a guy that was on death row. Keep things moving. Like I said in the other thread, I'd rather see a fight to rob the machines of time travel technology, since they know that's coming. We lost out on preventing Skynet, move on to the next part of the battle--prevent time travel.
Too bad Daenerys doesn't have her dragons with her. . . . . . . . . (I just can't stand Emilia Clarke - no objective reason. I just don't like her as an actress. Just like Denise Richards; can't stand her, either)
Anyway, here's a better teaser trailer
Why men throw their lives away attacking an armed Witcher... I'll never know. Something wrong with my face?
