I'd probably give myself some advice but knowing myself and especially my younger self I probably wouldn't follow it.
So, in that case, I suppose I would go WAY WAY back and snap some nice photos of dinosaurs.
With regard to changing the past, sure there was plenty of terrible stuff, but who's to say it won't get worse with somebody changing it.

I have often thought how would Europe developed if WW2 had not taken place Would Stalin have started a war with Europe or would the west have attacked him. No cold war no trillions of dollars spent on weapons. (doubt it) LoL

I'd just go back to last week and deliver this week's lottery numbers to myself.

I'd go back to around 1993 and say "stop drinking so much beer and eating the wrong foods, lose weight, and retire after 20 years. Trust me, you ARE going to wish you had."

You, sir, are my hero! Hmmmm, I think I'd go back to Germany about 1959 or 1960 and hide out where I could see my father scale the wall of a convent, kick down the door to the room my mother was sleeping in, literally throw her over his shoulder after announcing To Hell With This, She Is Mine, pushing several nuns over that tried to get in his way, and making off with her through the front doors and out into the night. Apparently he made an impression, as they were married a few weeks later. Mom said that night "changed the way I thought about everything," and all plans of living with the nuns and being a nurse evaporated. Dad was (and is) a Class A Dick worthy of estrangement, but you gotta admire the chutzpah. Or, alternately, party with Ben Franklin when he was in Paris.
The opinions of this poster are largely based on facts and portray a possible version of the actual events. More dumb stuff at http://www.darts-page.comFrom Laser: "The forum is the place where combat (real time) flight simulator fans come to play turn based strategy combat."

Dad was (and is) a Class A Dick worthy of estrangement, but you gotta admire the chutzpah. Or, alternately, party with Ben Franklin when he was in Paris. That ^ is one cool description of a father. And if you know anything about American history, the line about Franklin is a winner too. Cheers Dart! And per the OP, why change a thing? You'd just end up being disappointed for another reason.

I would go back and stop the assignation of Franz Ferdinand. Thus stopping WW1 from happing. I very much doubt Hitler or Stalin would have ever gained power if it were not for WW1. You have to be very careful about wanting to change something as major as that. It is impossible to predict how future events would have played out had the assassination been prevented. Who knows? Maybe nuclear weapons would have still been developed and used on a large scale? Maybe there would have been a nuclear holocaust? It really is a dangerous proposition to change history like that. You may not get the result you intended.
