Sept 17th encounter in my DII campaign for Erik Muller. Sopwith Strutters are a pain! So agaile its difficult to get them in your gunsights and keep them there. Very challenging and equally rewarding!
You are spot on about the strutters. I chose one for the start of my DiD campaign. The only problem is your rear gunner blocks your view and if he is not alert you don't see the enemy coming up on your six. Nice vids as usual Hellshade

Sorry to interfere here, but how to capture all these great video's and pictures. What FREE software do you use?
I use FRAPS. There is a freeware version but for a pittence it is worth upgrading to the payware. Check out their web site. There are other vid capture software but i will leave it to others to speak about them.

I use Shadowplay, which is part of the Nvidia Experience drive set extension. Need a higher end Nvidia GPU in order to use it though. 600 series and above I believe.
Nice work and very interesting approach to the vid. You are onto something and all it needs is a little refinement. Not easy working with observer view. Good show

Short vid of my RFC 46 campaign October 17 run-in with an interloping Albatros D.III during a Recon Escort mission to the German rear.
Smoke 'em if ya got 'em!
He was hot dogging it around the rest of my flight (can be seen from a distance at the beginning of the vid, at hi-res on YouTube) but they just continued on and left him to me.

That's what I've been using. Then cutting and saving it with encoding that supposedly works well on YouTube, even though YT always seems to reduce the quality no matter what resolution I use.

I'm just starting to explore the wonderful world of uploading to youtube...
From what I've read so far, and I may be wrong, but youtube will only upload certain file formats recorded at 30 fps. I've yet to find out which format youtube will accept without degrading its quality. So far, I tried mp4 and wmv which takes forever to upload and quality is poor.
I'm using cyberlink's powerdirector to edit the videos, but even that software is a bear to learn.
I guess it's just a game of trial and error, but more error....
Sept 19th Alb DII Campaign - Lightly Wounded in the Line of Duty!
Nice diving attack, then pull up, over the top, and you're in position again. I missed the 'getting wounded' bit?
Very lightly wounded. You can see a little bloodspatter on my goggles. 10 days sick leave for the injury!
But here I am, back defending our recon flight on Sept 29th. A pair of Nieuports were having a go at my "cargo" so I did my part for the Kaiser. The first one bugged out pretty quickly with a nice spin move that dropped him well below altitude to be worth giving chase but the other fellow came barreling in at me with quite a bit more enthusiasm.

Nice flying Neraro! Great job head tracking your opponent. Easy on the stick to get to where you need to be to open fire without getting overzealous. Excellent discipline on the trigger too my friend. Even hit him with your long distance opening rounds enough to make him take evasive action. I even like the lean to the side to get a clear firing view at your target. You are a natural in the pup sir. Keep 'em coming!

That was a close call at one point almost a collision. Thanks for the post

[Re: Hellshade]
I just started getting reacquainted with WOFF since v2 came out, and I also have a new CH setup since the last time I flew WOFF. So I'm still fine tuning the sensitivities. But I've nearly got it in the 'Goldilocks' zone now.
Fortunately that Albatros pilot wasn't one of the more experienced ones.
My upload speed isn't terribly amazing and I fly natively at 1680x1050 resolution, but I'll try to put vids up regularly while I'm campaigning.

As for getting the best video quality for YT vids, it's a whole genre of discussion on it's own. My understanding is that using the H.264 video codec is your best bet, in MP4 format. I'm going try to avoid converting to a smaller screen resolution before uploading as that tends to degrade it a bit further.
