So I am looking to add some scenery add ons to X plane 10. I am looking at OSM Continents or Mesh HD2. Does anyone have either of these installed? If so pros or cons as to which one to go with. Also if you dont have these and are running some scenery add ons what are you running?

I was wondering that myself. I'm re-installing XP10 after not having played it in over a year and while the sim is great, I really dislike the scenery and was hoping to upgrade. So far though all I've really found is airports as opposed to large areas.

For starters get v2 mesh by Alpilot. Its great and makes a big difference. Only drawback is the long download times.

Simheaven OSM continents http://simheaven.com/?page_id=23

Simheaven Satelite scenery http://simheaven.com/?page_id=8

Carenado planes are great in X-plane.

Check out X-plane.org for individual Aiport scenery.

There are quite a few really good payware scenery's available. Check out Aerosoft and X-plane.org store.
Tom Curtis's final frontier is one of my favorites.
Another favorite is Stewart Aiport scenery. http://beti-x.com/ Very ORBX like, even better!

If you already own a lot of FSX scenery, some of it converts very nice into X-plane with FS2XP.(free)

Some of th esceneries i have converted with ease are: Fly Tampa TNCM, Aerosoft Manhattan, Aerosoft Detroit, Aeroosft Los Angeles. There are many more, but these are the ones I remember of hand.

Hope this helps,

Rob

Thanks Scoobe!

As well as those simheaven mods, I found the realistic sky colors and haze mods. Quite a difference!

I think I'll be getting into payware aircraft. I had no problem paying for aircraft in FSX.
