After seeing a recent AAR, that same AAR inspired me to install the Operation Desert Storm (ODS) mod for SF2.

However I'm having an issue with the Jaguar GR1 (which BTW, is one of my favourite Desert Storm aircraft) when playing with it together with the ODS mod, namely when playing with it on the campaign. The problem is the following:
- When playing a single mission (with the Jaguar GR1) I can carry a total of 4 bombs on the inner pylons (2 on each pylon and twin bomb rack) such as the BL755 or even 1000lb bombs but when I play with the Jaguar GR1 in the campaign I cannot carry that much bomb load - In a campaign mission I can only carry 2 of such bombs on the inner pylons (1 on each pylon and rack) which makes me to believe that the problem seems to be related with the twin bomb racks.

I even tried to edit values such as the pylon loads but unfortunately I was unsuccessful, so could someone help me on this issue?

Thanks in advance for replies.

If it works in a single mission it should work in a campaign generally.

The campaign will sometimes limit the stores you can use but racks don't need to be specified normally - just checking where I added an LAU_88_65 for the F-16 in SF2I

In the campaign on the weapons selection screen does it only let you choose a single bomb on each pylon? Is the bomb type exactly the same as the one you use in single missions?

On the inboard pylons it likely uses RackType=2br_uk_jag on the inboard pylons - is that whats in your loadout.ini?

I also had that opinion but apparently it isn't that linear as I'm experiencing with this issue.

Yes and yes. I even opened the campaign files where the initial weapons available to the squadrons is defined and the aircraft's loadout.ini file and it seems that the weapons are the same.

I'll post a couple of screenshots below to show you what I'm experiencing:

Here is the loadout screen in a single mission:

And as you can see, you can for example (just like the real aircraft) either load a total of four (4) 1000lb bombs on the inboard pylons (2 on each pylon) or alternatively you can load a total of two (2) 1000lb bombs on the inboard pylons (1 on each pylon).

Next, is the loadout screen with the same aircraft but in a campaign mission:

And here as you can see, you can only load a total of two (2) 1000lb bombs on the inboard pylons (1 on each pylon).

Yes, I can confirm that's what I have on the aircraft's (Jaguar) loadout.ini file. Here's the my Jaguar GR1 loadout.ini file, you can download it and check for yourself:

Ok, found out where the problem was! whoohoo

There was indeed a problem with the data.ini file regarding the British Jaguar (GR1). The problem was related to the following line related to the inboard pylons code:

RackSpecificStationCode=DS_JAG

All I had to do was to comment that line (or simply deleting it would also work). Now I'm finally able to carry a total of 4 1000lb bombs or 4 BL755 on the inboard pylons during campaign missions!

I remember running into this problem once with a different campaign, but I can't remember what the cause was or what I did to fix it.

I can say this though - my guess is that you haven't really fixed the problem with what you described above. You are probably using the incorrect bomb rack in the campaigns instead of the one made for the Jag. I most likely doesn't affect gameplay, but might look weird from the outside depending on which bomb rack is being used.

I don't have ODS installed, but I'm downloading the installers as I type and will dig through the files to see if I can figure out where the issue is. It is probably something related to nation codes, export years, or campaign supply levels.

OK. I think I've found it.

If you look in the DesertStorm_Data.ini file, the air units have their starting weapon supplies defined:

Quote:

This is something from an older patch of the gen1 version of the games that is actually not necessary any more. I'm guessing it was left over from the WoE version of the ODS mod.

To correct the problem, you can either delete the bold section all together (back up the original first in-case I'm wrong) or just add this at the end:

Supply[010].WeaponType=2BR_jagDS
Supply[010].Quantity=220

See if that fixes it!

Hi Malibu and first of all, thanks for the reply.

Indeed, I tried that solution of yours but unfortunately it didn't work!

And my solution (that I posted above) actually works, at least it works for the Jaguar (probably won't work for other cases/aircraft) since the racks are now and indeed the same while playing either in single or campaign missions.

To prove this, here are the couple of screenshots taken while carrying the exact same payload (including 4x1000lb bombs on the inner pylons). The first one is taken during a single mission:

The second one is taken during a campaign mission:

The second one is not so visible since it was taken during a night (campaign) mission but I edited it a bit and should give the idea that the racks are now the same for both single and campaign missions (after making the modifications that I mentioned on my last post).
