I am planing a flight in X-Plane 10 from Gander(CYQX) to Shannon(EINN)
Using
http://rfinder.asalink.net/free/ it gives me a route of the following:
CYQX 0 0 N48°56'13.27" W054°34'05.29" GANDER INTL
ELSIR 80 106 N49°30'00.00" W052°00'00.00" ELSIR
50N050W 78 83 N50°00'00.00" W050°00'00.00" 50N050W
52N040W 78 396 N52°00'00.00" W040°00'00.00" 52N040W
52N030W 95 369 N52°00'00.00" W030°00'00.00" 52N030W
53N020W 84 370 N53°00'00.00" W020°00'00.00" 53N020W
MALOT 93 181 N53°00'00.00" W015°00'00.00" MALOT
GISTI 93 36 N53°00'00.00" W014°00'00.00" GISTI
KURUM 104 200 N52°13'43.10" W008°39'52.50" KURUM
EINN 343 30 N52°42'07.11" W008°55'29.33" SHANNON
After some research I found that this is one the current valid track as of 21 November 2014 @2100 EST.
The way-point ELSIR takes me to Vancouver first then back over Gander and across the Atlantic. Should I just ignore this point and make my first point 50N050W or can I make KOBEV my first point out of Gander even though its not an active NAT way-point?
I really just started understanding flight planning and executing of the flight plan the other day. I use to just fly point to point in FSX and let ATC guide me but since I have switched to X plane I found I really need to plan better. I also figured out of to use my FMC, Nifty little feature!
