Wow, and I had always thought my EDIROL speakers would be doing a great job with WOFF...
But now they are grinding the floorboards in the flat above mine, and I couldn't hear myself think; so I picked my ear-covering headphones and flew a mission with those.
And - Wow! - what a sound did I get! I had always thought the machine guns were a bit tickling. But over headphones they had the real hard, metallic sound! Everything else appeared much better, stronger, juicier too!
I don't usually like flying under headphones, cause I fear to miss the doorbell or the phone, or maybe the house is burning and I don't hear the shouting. But when the working is over, I will use my SENNHEISER headphones - they don't have covering earpieces - and that should allow to hear the other sounds going on in my place; and give me these lifesize, "TECHNICOLOR"-sounds!
Good job, Creaghorn!

Thank you Olham,
if you consider buying new headphones, I would recommend to buy 5.1 or 7.1 ones.
Normal speakers always have a sort of loss of audibal information. Personally I prefer always headphones over normal speakers. But of course it depends a lot of what kind of speakers you have. It's a good point, Creaghorn. I have simple desktop 2.1 speakers at the moment having sold my old Creative 7.1 system, because the stands for the side and rear speakers broke, and I couldn't stand the cables everywhere, and I was thinking about investing in some new speakers. Purely for PC use and predominantly for WOFF, CloD and BoS (should the SP experience ppick up steam [no pun intended]). What speakers would people recommend? I don't like using headphones due to the lack of sensory function that Olham alluded to. Appreciate any guidance. R

I have simple desktop 2.1 speakers at the moment... I meant stereo speakers actually, and I can't imagine they do WOFF justice.

Thank you, Creaghorn, but my SENNHEISER is giving me a brilliant sound quality, and it doesn't cover up my ears.

I always use my Logitech G430 7.1 headphones. It's a good thing I don't hear the door bell so I'm not bothered by Jehovah's Witnesses or people wanting to sell me something ! My phone is on my desk near me so if someone calls I see the screen light turning on. When my cat comes in from outside and is hungry, he has learned to jump on the desk to deliver the message !

I can't use headphones because my brother-in-law is usually seated alongside watching! And so I do have to figure out what you guys have already figured out - how to make my 5.1 Logitech speakers work with WOFF and CFS3. So y'all seem to say there are no settings required in WOFF? As long as Windows is configured to use it, all should be well? Much thanks...

Any recommendations for speakers, please, chaps?
Please help - Amazon's got loads, but I don't know where to start. I had a Creative SoundBlaster 7.1 (yup, 8 whole speakers, Olham!) before but threw it away. Too many cables running everywhere.
Ideally I'd like a 5.1 system with no cables. My room's not huge, and the walls/ceilings/floor are thin, so I don't need much wattage. It's more for the surround sound, so that I can distinguish from where bullets are coming (usually from behind me!).
Any help gratefully received. I'm still wondering if someone can confirm if WOFF sounds emit from all 5 or 7 speakers because I haven't been able to do it.
