I have been trying to find out if there is any progress in the form of a new flight sim to replace FSX? I know Xplane and P3D are out there, but I'm not sold on either of those.

Aerofly FS 2 is in development and is shaping up to be a big step forward over the first version, global scenery coverage being the big new feature.

We're told something is in the pipeline from Dove Tail Games who purchased the license to the franchise from MS.

I met up with Dovetail when they were at Cosford. They were aiming to re-release FSX gold on steam this November or December. They are working on a new flight game due for release next year. They couldn't give many details about their project, but I don't have high hope for it yet. They did seem open to suggestions though and seem willing to to cooperate and listen to customers and current FS devs.
