the only benefit of steam was the faster updates and Steam Overlay.
the update speeds with ED's updater have been resolved, I know people that linked it to their steam overlay externally.
I dont use steam because I like having the ability to use the command line commands to update or revert to a specific version.
Something that cannot be done with Steam.

(Use FC3 instead of Individual A-10A, SU-25A, F-15C. (As FC3 Includes more Aircraft MIG-29s, SU-33, SU-27 etc)).
