I have tried to register with BMS, but the promised email has not arrived after 2 weeks. Tried their contact form also an email to their webmaster, but no reply at all. Without this I cannot access the download. Anyone know if they are still there ? or are they on holiday ?

That's a very obscure website. So obscure in fact that none of the internal links work. Games are about illusion and BMS (and F4AF before it) convincingly places the player in an accurately modeled jet and let's him roam within a world seemingly at war. What other combat flight sim comes even remotely close to doing this?

Agreed - while no flight sim will be perfect especially with the current technology, F4AF and BMS both compare well to other sims out there. And that site looks more like something a single person put up rather than a professional endeavor.

Very true.

A moan that just nitpicks really - I can find major problems with any simulator out there - however there are ways round most of these things. or you just have to make do........unless you want to write your own.

TL;DR

While some of the AI nitpicks may be valid, IMHO this is the best we have so far in terms of having an "active combat theatre" so until the next-best-thing comes along, I'm happy with what I've got.

The future of what is next for BMS may be artificial intelligence. Artificial Intelligence reworks may be a priority for what is next for BMS. It is a difficult thing to do but will eventually be done-but may not be in the next release. This is according to this post.

benchmarksims

But I can wait. Any AI deficiencies can be compensated for. I just like being along for the ride and not worry too much about other computer controlled flights and wingmen.

I have downloaded a torrent manager and get about 40 peers, but no downloads. Have also tried to downlaod BMS_4.32 from veterans-gaming.com baseofdownloads.com mydownloadablefiles.com herearefilesofmine.com and topdownloadablefiles.com which goes to yes-my-lord.com. All of these try to download add on programs and then to link somewhere else to get BMS, but fail to do so. The only one that goes direct to the download page on benchmarksims is www.windows.podnova.com. The benchmarksims page then gives an error message saying that the page no longer exists. benchmarksims have still failed to reply to emails after 3 weeks.

So far I have spent about 3 days trying to find a download of 4.32 and have to come to the conclusion that it is no longer possible
