Looking at an R7 265, the 2GB version. I currently have a GTX 460.

Will it help out?

At present ATI doesn't suport DCS well. Might change with EDGE (DCS 2.0) suposedely to be lauched relatively soon. On the other hand the R7 may have enough of a generation gap to give you some improvement over the 460 even with present DCS technology. But I really can't comment on that.

If I were in your position I'd wait until EDGE is released before making any decisions on GPU upgrades, especially if I were upgrading specifically for DCSW.

Which is better than what the GTX 460 is giving me.

Better hold off any GPU purchases for now as others suggested.

I agree with the others about holding off until EDGE is released, but (like WC) my GTX 670 works just fine - even for the Mig-21.

Yeah, okay. Guess I'll hold off until I know what the new version is gonna need.

+1.

Although reading toms hardware review of the new 980/970 cards has me reaching for the Amazon wishlist...

Seems like an awesome bang for the buck.

I would wait until after Extremly Delays Graphics Engine is released and people report back how
it runs on their cards

By then we may have another Gen of Graphics cards released

Running DCS in a 3*1080p monitor setup on a GTX680 and works well with most details on.

If I where to buy a new GPU today I would give the new GTX 970 a long look, seems to be crazy fast compared with price and watt usage. And overclocked it seems to be even better smile

Noob in current sims, but played tons of combat sims back in the 80's and 90's
