I posted these up over at Grogheads, but I know some SimHQ'ers will appreciate them as well.

These are out on Ford Island. Each boot represents one military member who was killed since 2001 fighting the war on terror. I did see the Fort Hood victims were represented.

To put this in perspective, this is my son who was born in early 2002 checking the 2002 row. That's how long this has been going on.

Very poignant and sobering pics.

Sometimes we don't realize the cost.
Or what it means, to give your 'all'.

God those pictures are sobering.

Reminds me of a time long ago on a high school trip to visit Washington DC. Last thing we visited was Arlington Cemetery.
I'll never forget that site. All those stones so neatly aligned. Thousands of them stretching over a hundred years.

What's that song? "You'll find the cost of freedom buried in the ground."

A fine and unique memorial in deed.

Good for you for taking your son there also.

My dad took us to Arlington when I was maybe 11 or 12. Found some graves of friends of his and his Uncle Jack, a WW II Admiral. Tomb of the Unknowns and JFK's grave.....

Look for me on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook or Tic Toc...or anywhere you may frequent, besides SimHq, on the Global Scam Net. Aka, the internet.
I am not there, never have been or ever will be, but the fruitless search may be more gratifying then the "content" you might otherwise be exposed to.
