I imagine a comedy skit where Oscar is doing a house walk through and firing through all the doors first while explaining he heard something. Quick shots through random doors.

Looks like he did ok out of it so far with a chance of some time to come for culpable homicide.

He was so guilty. Aggressive, psychopathic person. Something odd going on there....

I wasn't there. I didn't hear the testimony or evidence'

Therefore my opinion is a bunch of opinionated crap.

Yeah... it sounds screwy.

What really happened?

I don't have a clue.

What I never understood about his "defense"--
Why did he think an intruder was locked in the bathroom?
Why did he shoot through the closed door?

Original heading is incorrect, intentional murder is dismissed but can be tried for common law murder or manslaughter.

If he actually thought an intruder had locked himself in the bathroom he might have thought that he'd better fire first and call the police later. Now with that thought comes the obvious ..... before shooting into a closed door....is he sure he saw his wife in bed ? ....girlfriend, whatever. A rational person would of made certain his girlfriend, wife or whoever was not in that bathroom.

I really think he lost control and intentionally shot at her.

exactly ...even dragging her limp body out of an elevator can be forgiven if there's enough money involved

well that articles says also:
"Money and his status as South Africas best-known convict could protect Mr Pistorius from the worst abuse suffered by ordinary prisoners"

I've always thought that this was murder. Who fires a gun into the bathroom when they live with someone? I don't care if you claim you saw her in bed. Any sane person would think, "Maybe I was wrong." and they say, "Uh...sweetheart, are you in there?" First thought is running for the gun and firing five shots through the door!!!? Biotch...please!
They had an argument. He runs to get his gun. She's screaming and runs to the bathroom and locks the door. He's yelling, "I'm gonna kill you, you &*%^$*!" And shoots. I have no doubt that that's almost exactly what happened.

Don't care how much money he's got, I wouldn't swap places, even at my age.

Mind you the young studs in the SA prison system might not fancy me that much.

biggrin

Just woke up and saw he was found guilty of culpable homicide (i.e., manslaughter). Don't know what sentence is possible with that in South Africa.

EDIT: And Cochran's been dead for several years, so that would be quite an event if he defended Pistorius. wink

So basically this is the South African equivalent of the OJ Simpson trial. Got it.

Well, if that's how you view things you don't anything happened unless it happened to you?

Except OJ walked because the prosecution was inept. SA's are better.
