I have G940, but that is old and been replaced 3 times now. (Cheap parts by Logitech ) I need something new...something that doesn't overheat after 1hr of simming. Thrustmasters? CH? Is there another stick that will FFB well? Please?

AFAIK, there are not any mass produced, consumer grade FFB joysticks/HOTAS in the pipeline that have been announced. Your G940 was the last one of those. There is some talk of an open source project floating around. You might do some searching around on here, or over at Eagle Dynamics forums on that.

So far, the old discontinued MS Sidewinder FFB2 seems to be the gold standard for FFB.

This. I managed to bag a virtually brand new one a few days ago for £10, complete with disc, manual etc.

Why did you have to replace your G940 3 times? The parts aren't industrial-quality, but they aren't that flimsy. Unless you're talking about the throttle and rudder?

Mass-produced ones? Don't count on it.

What I'm hoping for is that someone's going to extend that open-source Hempstick firmware to support DirectInput force-feedback routines. It shouldn't be too difficult considering it's meant to run on Arduino Due boards and you can just plop an Adafruit motor shield on.

However, that does naturally mean extensive DIY work, not just in programming the firmware to your preference, but also building the flight stick itself. That's the real challenge, but I believe it'll be the only way to get a truly satisfactory FFB stick (and possibly rudder pedals too) with no slop or notchy feeling.

In the meantime, I've formed enough G940 impressions that I feel like just turning around and selling it, perhaps after I'm done whipping up a bunch of game profiles for it.
