But it isn't JUST a car! Its almost making me sick to let this thing go, warts and all.
In 1999, since my wife we pregnant with our first kid, I had to trade in my Dakota (reg cab) and get something safe for a baby.
After a lot of searching, wanting something 4WD, I decided on the Amigo--something most people don't even know what it is.
Think Jeep, but with more room. We've had a lot of cars since then, but have always kept the Amigo a part of the family. The last new car
we ever bought, or will buy, most likely. Had to twist the dealers arm to order it. Not only for an Amigo, but a 4WD. Not the average order.
Waited a couple of months and finally got it.
Brought home 2 kids in it over the years.
2 dogs and a cat too.
When my wife managed to drown her car when the road was flooded over deeper than expected,
I got to her and the baby in the Amigo, no problem, and got them out.
We went on road trips in it, easily fitting us, 2 kids and the dog for a weekend outing.
Went on trail rides from NC to TN to TX doing something exciting we'd never done before.
Lightly modified and had a lot of fun in it.
I don't usually have a hard time letting things go, in fact, I'm usually relieved to free up space.
Cars are different. There's not one I've sold that I wouldn't love to have back. I swear
they pop up in my mind almost every day how I'd like to be driving one or the other. I know I'm going to
regret it, I've had this one for FIFTEEN years, but at the moment this is the one that makes sense to sell. We bought my wife a car last week, so
we've got 4 right now and no room. Not to mention the monthly insurance adds up!
Still, this is going to hurt. Maybe no one will buy it? Hmmm...
