The first videos in the "Test Flight" series for the F-86F Sabre are complete and will be available just as fast as my internet connection will allow. The series features a start to finish look at learning a new aircraft and is intended for new flight simmers who may not be sure where to start. I think you will enjoy it no matter your experience level so feel free to check it out.
The best place to see videos as they are posted is at this playlist:
They feature several hours of A-10 Warthog, F-15 Eagle, and UH-1 Huey gameplay with detailed commentary from the perspective of an experienced flight simmer provided throughout.

Just want to take a moment and punt this post to the top.
I am seriously surprised that there were no comments here.
I know that the SimHQ community is split between forum posters and on-line flyers (sure there is overlap there) and sometimes we readers and flyers do not take the time to point our a resource that is seriously useful to the community at large.
This is such a resource. Valuable, informative, positive and well executed.
Seriously people. Give the guy some props! (pun intended)
[EDIT: Shouldn't we be doing this more and bickering and complaining less?]

Fridge ---------- Things which do you no good in aviation: 1) Altitude above you; 2) Runway behind you; 3) Fuel in the truck; 4) The airspeed you don't have.

I looked, and I found them not to my taste. IMO, like most youtubers these days, there is too much talking and not enough information. 15 minutes of looking at loading screens, without a glimpse of the Sabre? I suggest that the author could look at Requiem's stuff on RoF, for a guide. Short, scripted and useful.

tagTaken2, I don't disagree with you and that is why I have the "On the Range" series. Test Flight and the other stuff I do are "gameplay" series that give new players (and experienced) an example to go by on how to play the game. It is something that strategy and other genres have a lot of but we as flight simmers seem to be lacking. I think if you give it a chance you would see it has a lot to offer as it gets going.
I enjoy Requiem's work as well and highly recommend it.
Cheers.

Appreciate you being gracious, but I prefer to read rather than watch, unless it's something that needs visuals. Different audience, and the rant is less directed at you than others who waffle endlessly, like that bloke who does BMS tutorials.

I know what you mean - that did make me chuckle, though his videos are informative (krause, I mean - the guy doing the bms vids) they can be a bit on the lengthy side.
My personal fave is Gerry Abbott.
Bunyap, I tried your vids, but they are just too lengthy and detailed for my liking. Showing the entire mission is risky as it will always disaffect some viewers and sometimes I get the feeling the commentary is just to fill in spaces where you maybe could have just cut a minute or two out instead. I know it's not easy, I've tried it myself. I do alright with FSX reviews and the like, but for combat sims it's hard to get the balance right between the details and the action. Having said that, I've been flying LOMAC et al for a long time, and don't have a huge amount of patience.
That doesn't mean I think they aren't good or useful - there are obviously plenty of people who find them useful, so good for you for taking time to do them
Jesus, this place has really gone downhill

I like them too - it is interesting to watch how other pilots approach a mission and execute it (or don't execute it as is often my experience..) I can appreciate that they might be a tad long for some, but they are a great resource for those that might want to go to a certain mission and find out how exactly they might be able to get past a certain part. I mean, they are essentially walk-throughs. With the important exception that rarely are any two missions alike when replaying a mission in DCS..even when you approach them the same way there are always differences.
I'm pretty impressed too that the narration is well done while flying - it is not easy to do and he does a good job with it. I've always tended to record a mission in segments, then put post-production voice overs because I'm not as good at talking on the fly <g>...

Beach, I really like your AARs but, to me, post-production feels more like a job than a hobby. I really wish I could do highlight reels for each mission but I know myself well enough to know I would burn out within a week. I don't know how you do it.
I think cutting the videos themselves down to 15-20 minutes has helped some. I admit, the ones I did a year or two ago were a bit excessive and really lacked energy in places. I don't cut anything out because I really believe that showing the full mission is important. There are a ton of good videos showing how to start an aircraft, take-off, and hit a target. There are absolutely none showing what to do with the other 95% of the time. Navigation, target search, and building situational awareness are important but there is no way for a new player to know that without figuring it out on their own.
They are not for everyone but I don't make them for everyone. BeachAV8R and others get new players interested while I provide details and depth to those who get hooked. If you know nothing of flightsimming you will be bored because you have no idea what I am talking about. If you are an old-timer you will be bored because you already know what I am telling you. I am trying to show that there is more to this than take-off, time-warp to the target, bomb, and get shot down. That gets boring fast and folks need to know there is more depth available if we mean to keep them around.
Anyway, is anybody else flying the Sabre? I seem to have the forum to myself at the moment.

That makes sense. While everyone else can do the modern History Channel version of them, Bunyap can be doing the Ken Burns' Civil War versions of DCS videos.
