Not to worry; this is standard Mustang/Acer1961. I really hope you'll direct all of your constant negativity into destroying targets in the sim Joe.
Many an hour will be 'wasted' in this sim once it is released. It is looking fantastic.

What I said wasn't having a 'pop' at anyone here - I was just saying that I personally feel like it's a bit much to be waiting all this time after expecting its release (having paid for it some time beforehand) and for this kind of thing to then be splattered around in front of us, but we still have zero idea when we will receive it.
If Beach needs it ahead of time for his PC Pilot (yes, I'm an online subscriber) article, then fine - it's the dangling in front of our noses that makes me feel someone is taking the proverbial.
"Hey guys, this so fantastic, what a brilliant job, I'm having a great time with it while you all sit waiting indefinitely" etc etc. So give us the damn thing or else just say something like "I've received the product for review and I'm impressed with the work that has gone into it, as you can read in my upcoming article."
The difference is between informing and rubbing it.

The difference is between informing and rubbing it. There is a certain irony in getting hammered for not posting enough images/videos, and then when there is an influx, especially of things that actually MATTER (like how it flies, feels, avionics, in-depth stuff that we all crave) -- we're "rubbing it in". I'm surprised you're negative to this, I never ever expected that. Note, I don't mind your opinion, but I certainly feel that it's unfair and unwarranted. We've spent thousands of hours pining over every little detail in this module. Regardless, the difference here is live or die for a small indie developer like ourselves, who depend on great individuals like BeachAV8R to help us reach a wider audience. And yes, we are (extremely) close. Enjoy these previews instead and get yourself hyped up now -- it's just about time.

Bank Holiday weekend next weekend and I have the Friday off too, so 4 days off work.
No pressure, Leathernecks....just 4 days off work, nothing to do...could learn a new aircraft to fly perhaps, if there was one....no pressure though...
...no pressure.......

So someone had asked me about landing the MiG-21 without the braking chute, so I took her around the pattern this morning to see. This was a mid-weight landing (no external stores, 50% fuel) at Krymsk airfield. I tried to stay on or around the landing profile and figure I crossed the numbers with full flaps at around 320kph. I did not use the airbrakes upon touchdown - the manual does not mention deploying them for normal landings, so I'm not sure that they are regularly used for that. So basically, this was a pure wheel brake energy landing roll. As you can see, I took up a bit over 2/3rds of the runway, so as long as you are on speed and put the aircraft down in the touchdown zone, you can still stop even without the braking chute. Assuming, of course, that you have pneumatic air still available for the brakes. Because you DID remember to stow that landing gear handle in neutral right? Right? I also flew the first bit of the gun tutorial (before my pager went off and I had to abandon ship!). Quite a few buttons and switches to set prior to using the guns. I can already tell there are going to be a lot of us lining up on the enemy, squeezing the trigger, and getting nothing but a swear word because our cockpit isn't properly set up for the engagement... Instructed to set 17.5 meters wingspan for the gunsight width "flower" reticle using the knob on the left side of the HUD.. Pow pow pow... Where is your escort you Yankee Hog Dog!!? I should get a medal for my non-maneuvering kill.. I'll refly the mission later and see what other targets come up later in the training mission... BeachAV8R

If 50% fuel was still too much, you can just turn the burner on for 30 seconds and get that down to 10%. The Jedi Master

IIRC I read that the 21 has 7 mins of fuel in AB. I don't recall which model it was, or if it had external tanks (I think it did not), but it's a big engine in a small plane.

Although Beach may be a fine singer, I suspect he got his copy due to his lengthy history of published (in print) aviation simulation articles instead. As for what I share here - that is just a side benefit of me being a longtime SimHQ member and seriously enthusiastic flight sim fan. I'm genuinely into flight sims because they led me to my real career in aviation by planting the seed 30 some years ago. BeachAV8R You undersell your self Chris ! Really pleased for you, you get to blastski around in the Fishbed, no ears for the whiners mate, the time effort and enthusiam you feeback to our hobby is tremendous. Am I envious ?. Yup but then again analysing a Beech crash or two is always a good lesson prior to scrambling to intercept the Capitalist Dogs ! Fly my friend fly for freedom Fly for all of us.....Flyyyyyyyyy (Pan to Mig into sunset cue Russian Army choir singing National Anthem). Looking forward to this one. (And the SimHQ award for understatement of the year goes to.................Nickmow ! ).

So, Nick, people who express an opinion that you don't agree with are whiners. huh?
Better expressing an honest opinion in the face of fanboys than being than being a butt-licker, my young boy.

Christ, is that how quickly it consumes fuel in AB? Some numbers: 100% on sealevel: 3,2l/s AFB1 on sealevel: 4,2l/s AFB2 on sealevel: 5,5l/s At Mach 1: AFB1: 6,4l/s AFB2: 8,8l/s With 2850l internal storage, the afterburner is gozzling fuel away quickly.
