The last release of yesterday says it all :

"As you can see for yourself, I had the surprise to find on my blogs very ugly commercials. I received as well a mail saying I have to pay a monthly fee if I don't want to have them in the middle of my writings.

I had chosen to open this blog on Over-blog as the communication was "Open a free blog" and this is what I signed for. Now I have a communication that says " Open a free blog with ugly commercials for things that you might not endorse or pay to have them off".

As a direct consequence, this blog is closed as from today. I will leave it online until the end of the month to pass on the information, which I will also give on the various forums where I am active.

A sincere thank you to all the people who dropped by !"

I also had my photo blog there since 2011, I will now switch all my pictures on my Flickr gallery where the free space has been increased to 1 To.

That's too bad. I enjoyed the blog.

MACHINE GUN FIRE: CAMBRIN by ROBERT GRAVES (September 25 1915)

The torn line wavers, breaks, and falls. 'Get up, come on!' the captain calls 'Get up, the Welsh, and on we go!' (Christ, that my lads should fail me so!) A dying boy grinned up and said: 'The whole damned company, sir; it's dead.' 'Come on! Cowards!' bawled the captain, then Fell killed, among his writhing men.

That's really too bad Corsaire. I also liked your blog, but I absolutely support your reasons.

On a side note, I can't see the ads due to AdBlock. That program IS free, though donations are appreciated (I think I will, it's saved me lots of aggravation) and answers for most of this nonsense companies are pulling these days.

Sorry to hear this Corsaire, I too visited your blog and enjoyed it much. I also understand your reasoning for closing. I went and bought Air hauler because of reading about it on your blog and other sites. I have been having fun flying around Alaska in FSX with it. I enjoyed your stories about your flights on your blog. Good luck finding another one.

Thanks guys, great to see it's been useful to some people. It was one of the ideas behind to try to explain through the stories what was fun about these flight sims.

My Air Hauler company in Canada/Alaska is still operating, and I started a new one which is a special project. You can read about it at my usual FSX joint (one of the friendliest places I found, together with this one) They offered me right away a blog place, but another idea was to mix all sims in the same place to show several aspects (although the readers could select one special category) :

I know about this program, but my reaction was more due to the fact they didn't even try to discuss with the bloggers, just sent an email saying "We are going to stick adverts on your pages, if you want them removed you have to pay a monthly fee." eek
