'Fraid not - that was '40's jet This is a single engined aircraft that was exported to 21 countries, and saw combat action as late as the end of the '80's. Countries who used the Hawker Hunter: Abu Dhabi[112] Belgium Chile Denmark[113] Iraq India Jordan Kenya[114] Kuwait[114] Lebanon 3 single seaters and 1 two seater back in service. Netherlands Oman[115] Peru Qatar[116] Rhodesia Saudi Arabia Singapore[22] Somalia Sweden Switzerland United Kingdom Zimbabwe Total: 22 (including Britain) It was also used in at least two aerobatic teams Aerobatic teams that Used the Hunter: UK Black Arrows. Swedish Arco. Singapore Black Knights. Okay - one more clue, and if you don't get it from this, there's something wrong - it's still operated today by a middle-eastern country's air force. Lebanon still uses 4 Hawker Hunters. Hawker Hunter for the win!

I didn't include Britain, of course. By the way, it was also used by the Blue Diamonds, 92sqn RAF aerobatic team http://aerobaticteams.net/blue-diamonds.htmlLovely aeroplane. There are more very talented guys from the MSFS scene jumping on board the DCS dev 'bandwagon' every week, too - so expect some really nice models in a year or so. The Sea Fury might not be freeware (if he actually manages to do it), but the dev normally doesn't charge much for his flight sim add-ons. Sorry for staying OT after it had wandered. Let's get back to hoping the MiG-21 comes out soon - then when the Hunter is here, it will have some relevant opposition.

Like the 21, there are LOTS of Hunter variants, too.

the Hunter was also used by the Patrouille Suisse, the Swiss army aerobatic team up to 1994.

The version being modelled is a trainer version. Still can do all the stuff the single-seaters can, but if the two crew thing gets completed in DCSW, you could fly it with a friend (or teach him...). Last shots I saw, it was toting four AGM-65s and another one shows it with a couple of Sidewinders The guy is just playing around at the moment, though, finding out how things work.

I don't know why you guys are complaining. My MiG-21 is flying just fine.. My first take-off. Didn't read the manual or do a cold start (I cast aside my professionalism just this once..err..yeah..). I had no idea what the rotation speed should be. I'll tell you right now..this is the liveliest ground handling beast I've encountered yet in DCS. I over-rotated, then got in a real quick PIO and hit my gear on the runway, damaging the left main. Hauled it back off, and horsed it around the pattern. (Love the high pitch, sled like drag feel to this thing..) and landed with a bent left main, which promptly collapsed. I did survive though.. This thing is awesome. I'm gonna spend a long time learning this... BeachAV8R

Good grief. Look at the level of detail of the skin and textures. You can almost imagine a Russian worker's hands pounding that metal or something... Another thing, a little detail, the afterburner coming on effect is really, really good. The hue (or color or whatever) seems very realistic and it flickers ever so slightly making it appear alive. Just initial blush stuff.. And I won't be writing much about it here unfortunately. A SimHQ staffer will give you guys the meat I'm sure at some point. BeachAV8R

Really looking forward to this. Lots of work and attention to detail.
